CLASSIC OCEAN BLUE WATER SAILING YACHT ‘FAIR SEA’
Official Number 714000

FAIR SEA (formerly FATIMA) was launched in Argentina in 1984 at the Astillanza Shipyard in Buenos Aires to a design by naval architect Roberto J. Hosmann, who was one of the most important Argentine naval architects specialising in cruising and offshore racing yachts.
Roberto joined Sparkman & Stephens in the 1950s; after his return to Argentina he maintained a continuous collaboration with this company, later he signed numerous projects with Oyster together with other important marine companies.
His most famous ocean racing sailboat is the Argentine Navy training ship ‘Esperanza’ a 19 metre ketch that has often achieved victories and good placings in the most famous offshore regattas in South America, such as Buenos Aires – Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires – Mar de la Plata, Colon 500, of which ‘Esperanza’ holds the speed record in compensated time for an Argentine sailing ship, 35 hours, 29 sec.
‘Esperanza’ as a training ship of the Argentine Navy made many crew training voyages in Tierra del Fuego and Cape Horn

FAIR SEA is an evolution of ‘Esperanza’, she is a very solid and comfortable sailboat, made with Thyssen marine steel; – during the last survey in June 2021 the hull thickness was between 4.2 / 4.5 mm, compared to 4.8 mm in 1984.
Between 1987 and 1992 she underwent a major refit with the addition of Rondal aluminum masts with built-in sail furlers, Rondal fixed rigging, back stay and wang Navtec.
Between 2006 and 2009 the interior layout was changed so as to be able to take advantage of four cabins with ensuite bathroom and shower and a crew cabin with separate entrance, new refrigerators, desalination plant coolers that allow one month of autonomy navigation in full comfort for the guests. FAIR SEA is a comfortable and reassuring vessel to sail in various sea conditions. FAIR SEA can be managed by a crew of 3 thanks to hydraulic sails furlers, hydraulic winches, autohelm etc.

Steel hull and decks, GRP moulded superstructure. Teak brightwork.
