The Tela is a half decked open day boat built with a GRP hull and teak trim. These pretty boats have a shallow draft with a centreplate making them excellent river and estuary boats, but with a reasonable weight, 50% ballast ratio and protective decks they are capable of coastal passages as well. The gaff sloop rig is very light and easy to handle so she can be sailed by one person if needed, but has space for 4 adults with ease. She is easily launched and recovered on her road trailer and can be towed behind an average family car. All this makes for an excellent family boat providing easy yet fun sailing without too much hassle. She is generally fairly low maintenance.
