DESCRIPTION

Jenny Wren IV is the last surviving model of this classic weekend cruiser, built in 1968 at the Sandbanks Yacht Company for cruising on the Solent, now situated on the Thames. 

Her beautiful wooden topsides and sizeable, stylish cockpit make her perfect for entertaining on sunny days, while her comfortable cabin enables point-to-point cruising for weekends or longer.

History: Jenny Wren IV is a 27" cabin cruiser built in 1968 by the Sandbanks Yacht Company for cruising in the Solent.  She was extensively rebuilt in the 90's, her rebuild (superstructure and engines) featuring in Yachting & Boat World magazine. One of four models built, she is thought to be the only remaining example.  She moved to the Thames in the 00's, and was bought by her current owner in 2016, who has performed a number of renovations, including a complete rebuild of the transom in two stages, a new bulkhead, and extensive reconditioning of the cockpit combing. 

Superstructure: mahogany on oak; sides are clinker-built in mahogany planking.  Mahogany topides and teak deak. 

Engine: 2 x Perkins with rear shaft drives.  Extensively rebuilt in the 90's, and serviced regularly (last service 2022).

Cockpit: Sizeable cockpit with rear bulhead sofa seating and further seating on footlockers to port and starboard.  Canvas canopy fitted last decade.  Skipper's chair. Lockable door and steps down to -

Cabin: to port, heads currently fitted with Porta-Potti (original Baby Blake sea heads, currently removed, sold with boat), then kitchenette featuring sink and gas cooker (cooker disabled and needs replacing). V-berth to fore atop extensive stores in the hold.  To starboard, double seated table converting to further double berth. 2 x 240 V shore power plug sockets.

Topsides: teak deck throughout with teak hatch on the bow.  Metal pulpit around the bow, metal pushpits to stern with swivel davits.

Inventory: Lifejackets x 4, safety ring x 2, mooring lines, fenders, fend hooks x 2, anchor and chain (not attached), selection of navigation equipment (not fitted). Porta-potti. Crockery and cutlery, cleaning and maintenance equipment. Full record of paperwork including original boat plans, photography, YBW article, survey and service records, etc.

Other info: eberspacher heating system, shore power to 240V AC plugs, 12V DC battery power + 2 x cigarette lighter outlets

Maintenance: Her engines were serviced in 2022 and she has a BSS valid until 2025. Hull antifouled in October 2022.
