Main Characteristics of Walkaround Boats
As the name implies, walkaround boats are characterized by their wraparound decks which offer 360 degrees of fishing space. They will have a center console to allow for this, and a small cabin that offers overnight accommodation, as well as a compact head and galley space in some larger models. The walkaround boat is used primarily for fishing, and therefore usually comes equipped with plenty of storage, livewells, rod holders, and other angling accessories. The typically deep V-hull means they are well-suited to offshore waters as well as providing more cabin space below deck. This style of boat tends to be larger than a cuddy cabin boat yet smaller (and more affordable) than a cabin cruiser yacht.

These days luxury and fishing can very much go hand in hand, and there are some high-end, high-performance walkaround boats on the market that are just shy of being classified as luxury yachts.
