Famous Dual-Purpose Aft Cockpit Cruiser: Nelson 38 Aft Cockpit

Aft cockpit cruisers aren't so common anymore, but this 41-footer provides a good example of the genre for many reasons. The Dale 38 is a well-known model built by the highly praised Nelson brand.

It's designed to be a strong, durable vessel that can be used as a cruising boat and is also coded for use as a police launch or other commercial applications.

The Dale Nelson 38, created by Arthur Mursell from TT Boat Designs, is a testament to exclusivity. Only 28 were produced, each a unique piece of boating history. Now molded at 40 feet long, it's a rare find for any boating enthusiast.

It has quality joinery, full engine service, and a typical Nelson semi-displacement hull. The Dale 38 embodies the artistry that has given Nelson such a long-standing reputation.

A Contemporary Masterpiece Cruiser: Askham Bullet 52

For generations, brands have aspired to design boats like Nelson's sturdy and sea-worthy models. Their Askham Bullet 52 cruiser is no exception.

It's a masterpiece of contemporary craftsmanship and engineering. Its meticulous woodwork, open galleys, and now-refitted Mercedes 240 hp diesel engines prove its quality.

John Askham, Nelson's famous 1960s Chief Designer, maximized its interior space and comfort for house boating while incorporating Nelson's full displacement hulls, known to move more effectively through the water rather than on top of it for cruising. Its deep and wide hull shape allows for more water tankage, storage, and larger living areas.

Askham's dedication to detail and quality is evident in every aspect of this boat. Over a decade of research and development has ensured it is equipped with all the modern technology and living areas that meet the highest standards of comfort, making this model a timeless symbol of durability and convenience.

Antique River Boat: 26 Crosby Tug

Vintage river tugs like this 1992 Crosby are gems from the past, providing a unique cruising experience in rivers and lakes. Crosby Yacht Yard has been building boats like this tug since the 1800s. They are the originators of world-famous boats like the Crosby Catboat. Like generations before, they are committed to creating boats beyond quality, functionality, and durability standards.

This vessel has undergone a remarkable transformation, with nearly $250,000 worth of upgrades. These enhancements have turned it into a luxurious recreational boat, offering comfortable sleeping space for two, a custom hard top, teak decks, a fully equipped toilet, and more. The spacious seating on the aft deck can comfortably accommodate five people, and it features a well-appointed galley in the salon.

Innovative Hybrid Motor Yacht: Overblue 44

If you enjoy the space provided by catamarans and can imagine living aboard a truly spacious yacht, you may fall in love with this Overblue 44' cruiser. An Italian designer frustrated by the internal dimensions of mid-40-foot motor boats started the idea. He and his team designed this boat from the inside out, using every inch of space to create a three-stateroom cabin.

Their idea was to focus on maximizing stability and space, natural attributes of a catamaran, while maintaining the efficiency and versatility of a motor yacht. Although only a few years old, this yacht certainly innovative, comfortable, and luxurious.

The Overblue 44' boasts a rare feature for its size—a full-length flybridge. As a result, it offers more indoor and outdoor space than any other boat in its range. The only steps on the boat are between lower and upper deck. The interior is a single-level design so you can move freely from room to room and enjoy the comfort of high, seven-foot ceilings.

The boat is sleek, modern, and cutting-edge yet relatively affordable compared to other yachts in their class, making this a true marvel for anyone who wants to optimize their space.
