DESCRIPTION

164ft. TRADEWIND SCHOONER – SUCCESSFUL CHARTER BUSINESS – Lying: Sweden

One of the finest Tall Ships of her size, the LADY ELLEN represents a realistic and eminently practical modern version of her Edwardian counterpart. Licensed for 100 guests, with ongoing high-end weddings and events with overnight accommodation for 27 guests plus crew. A rare opportunity to acquire a well maintained and fitted-out vessel offering many commercial opportunities.

HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:

LADY ELLEN is a replica of the timber merchant schooner ELLEN, originally built in Denmark in 1909. LADY ELLEN is built to the same design of Lars-Erik Johansson and constructed in Sweden by Kockcums Submarine Yard and launched on 10th August 1980. She was completed on 3rd October 1983 and set sail for the West Indies to begin chartering. In 1986 LADY ELLEN sailed to Quebec to take part in the Canadian 450th-anniversary celebrations. Under new ownership, she was re-fitted in 1990 and again in 1993.

The interior was fitted out by the Vindo Yacht Yard and the mast and rig in Skagen, Denmark.

Built of submarine standard steel, Teak clad superstructure, Teak laid decks and Oak capping rails.

This elegant and traditional vessel is fully coded with an E100 Pax Certification for 100-day guests and 27 over-night passengers, plus a crew of 10. The accommodation is principally fitted-out in Teak and offers eight en-suite cabins with showers and heads, further separate cabins and captain and crew quarters. Fully commercial kitchens with stainless steel fitments.

Powerful topsail schooner rig with 99ft main-mast. Thirteen sails setting 800 sq.m.
