DOMINGO is conventionally designed with a spoon bow, full sweeping, unbroken sheer, full transom and round bilge hull with a long externally ballast keel and useful timber bilge keels, ideal for drying moorings or shoal-draught cruising. The rudder is transom and keel hung. The deck layout is also conventional with fore, side and aft decks with accommodation forward beneath a stepped coach roof and with a self-draining cockpit aft.
Planking is carvel in Afromosia – fastened with copper nails and roves.
Timbers are steam-bent oak with sawn oak frames in place of every fifth station in the centre section.
Centreline structures are in oak with galvanised mild steel and yellow metal fastenings.
Ballast keel is in cast iron.
Decks are laid Afromosia on ply with black PRC paying to seams.
Deck beams are in oak.
Cabin and cockpit coamings are of varnished Mahogany.
The cabin top is of marine plywood, cascover sheathed.
The cockpit is Mahogany and Iroko with trunk in plywood. The cockpit is self-draining.
The mast is pine in box section and varnished with twin spreaders. Tabernacle deck stepped.In 2010 – work carried out by Waterfront Marine (Port Penrhyn, N Wales)
Decks completely re-caulked and Coelan coated
Toe-rails completely replaced with iroko.
Engine
The original engine was replaced in 1980 with a 35hp BMC Captain 1.5L Diesel with PRM hydraulically operated gearbox, with single lever controls (1980).
Single level controls replaced with new in 1980.
The engine is mounted on very flexible mounts and is connected to the shaft by an Aqua drive universal joint, with an independent thrust bearing installed in 1995.
Three bladed propeller.
The engine has been regularly serviced and the raw water pump was professionally rebuilt in 2014.

Fuel: 2 x 15 gallons(approx.) in stainless steel

Accommodation
The fore cabin has conventional V berths with stowage forward and beneath.
Moving aft is a heads compartment to starboard with a Baby Blake marine toilet and sink. With hanging space to port.
The saloon has a U-shaped settee to port which converts to a double berth. There is a centreline table with hinged flaps. On the starboard side is a further settee which can be used as a single berth – thus giving five berths. There are plenty of storage lockers.
The galley area is to port near the companionway – single sink with seawater and freshwater – which is pressurised by an electric pump (new in 2009). The cooker is a single burner Origo spirit stove.
The Bengco charcoal heater is not current installed because re-gloss work is in progress.
All berth cushions professionally replaced in 2009.
Standing Rigging and Sails
Inner and outer forestays, with twin backstays. Cap and intermediate shrouds with fore and aft lower shrouds. Running backstays. It’s all stainless steel and includes chrome bronze rigging screws.
The fixed topmast forestay and aft lower shrouds were all new in 2003. Bowsprit shrouds were new in 1999. The portable topmast forestay and aft lower shrouds were new in 1996.Sails

Seacraft Ltd. much-favoured by Maurice Griffiths to build yachts to his designs constructed many of the Tideway Class. Frank Parsons, owner of Seacraft a well-respected designer in his own right was much influenced by MG hence DOMINGO displays many of Maurices design features of the period. A weatherly little ship ideal for East Coast cruising and longer coastal voyages. Seriously for sale and sensibly priced.
