Built and designed by master boat builder Graham Bunn of Windboats, Wroxham in 1938, an epoch when quality was of the highest standards, LADY CHRISTINA is constructed of the ultimate boat builder’s timber, Burmese Teak on solid 2” English oak timbers and backbone.
She recently underwent a complete renovation to bring this fine motor cruiser into the 21st century and had a complete refit with modern systems under the classic look of a true Gentlemen’s cruiser. With her dual position controls and super flying bridge, she is a river cruiser of true and unique pedigree. She is perfect for those isolated getaways and holidays with the family.
Her history is rich and adventurous, featuring more recently on Great Canal Journeys hosting Tim & Prunella for a week onboard, having completed multiple channel crossings (visits to the Dutch and Belgian waterways), coastal jaunts to Guernsey and Jersey, she is now lying on the Nantes-Brest canal network in South-west Brittany (can easily be transported anywhere in Europe). Powered with a fully reconditioned BMC marine engine and new Borg Warner gearbox, LADY CHRISTINA is ready for exploration, adventure and delight.
LADY CHRISTINA exudes comfort, quality and is pleasing to the eye in every aspect, completely hand crafted and re-configured as part of her restoration, she now offers a Master cabin with a huge 7’6” bed, twin seating and storage, all fabricated in Burmese teak and English Walnut – internally she is a celebration of gorgeous wood grain and hardwood, all accompanied with mood lighting. Adjacent wet-room and separate head with original features and fittings of the highest quality. The saloon with convertible bunks for 2+1 and equipped with multimedia systems (surround sound with dual zone controls) is perfect relaxing and entertainment.
The exceptionally comfortable wheelhouse has fantastic all round visibility with the clever use of glass and newly fabricated Burmese teak framing. The fully equipped galley is a delight, fitted out in oak and walnut and Finnish made diesel hob and oven. A lovely “U” shaped seating area invites you in to enjoy the moment as the Captain cooks and presents you with the theatre of dining in style on the river.
The forward cabin presents further vintage luxury and flexibility, a twin “V” berth or huge double quarters.
Fully heated through-out, with 7 day timer on thermostatic controls and hot water on board for shower and galley.
She had a full exterior refresh summer 2021: Complete re-varnish and paint, hull painted and decks re-oiled. She was last lifted (bottom coated) and inspected in 2018 but will be lifted out for any survey at the prospective buyer’s request.
LADY CHRISTINA has been fitted out with marine equipment of the highest quality with no expense spared. She is a true head turner, attracting interest everywhere she goes and a real piece of Vintage history and is now waiting for her new custodian.
Currently lying in Brittany, France but she can be easily transported back to the UK (all VAT paid) or further afield in the EU.
