Also in the '80s, they removed all wood from the boat structure. Allison was the first boat manufacturer incorporating features that have become standards in today's boats. Some of these firsts include the cupped propeller (1954), a mechanical engine trim (1957), the foot throttle (1957), hydraulic engine trim (1958), a pleasure boat that goes 60 MPH (1960), molded-in fiberglass bucket seats (1962), a "High performance" fishing boat (1962), and a pedestal seat for fishing boats (1962).
