Ideal for both sea and freshwater cruising, her single 120hp six-cylinder diesel runs at an economical 2 gallons per hour. Owned by the current owner for the last 9 years, fully documented history during this time. This vessel has just been reduced from £36,995 to £29,995 as it has found to have Osmosis despite having a preventative treatment nine years ago 
Accommodation :
The Aquastar offers five in two doubles and one single berth in two cabins. Forward cabin with V berth with infill cushion to create large double berth. Heads compartment with toilet  which is manually operated but has a seasmart sanitiser fitted, shower and handbasin with hot and cold pressurised water, 200 litre holding tank, Galley with stainless sink, Flavel two burner gas cooker with oven and grill, and 12v fridge. Single berth to port. Dinette to starboard converts to double berth. Blue patterned upholstery, teal curtains, and blue carpets. Stereo/CD player, Webasto diesel cabin heating, Teak finish joinery throughout, Aft cockpit with bench seat, full enclosure, and stowage under.

History in Ownership

Purchased the vessel in October 2012 and arrived at Gillingham Marina where it was taken to the Workshops and treated for osmosis. This involved jet blasting the bottom half of the boat off, drying out in a heated workshop for several months and then applying a new gelcoat. It was then anti fouled with 5 coats of copper coat. During the six months it was in the workshop it had a thorough refit/upgrade, during which the following works were completed.

  • Engine, stripped down, head gaskets replaced and pistons and jets checked and cleaned and fully serviced.
  • Rope cutter and spacer fitted to propeller shaft, and Propeller replaced.
  • TV digital satellite Ariel receiver and amplifier fitted
  • Stainless steel life raft cradle and 4-man Seago life raft fitted to cabin roof.
  • Fitted new electric Lofrans windlass (Kobra 700 w) and foot control switches on Deck.
  • Fitted new Garmin Echo fish finder.
  • Fitted new bilge pump.
  • Fitted new regular sized Jabsco toilet and corresponding pipework. & New taps
  • Stainless steel fuel tank emptied, and steam cleaned.
  • Diesel fuel duplex gauge filter gauge fitted.

The boat left the workshop in April 2013, and between then and now the following works have been completed, and items added.

  • All 5 batteries replaced
  • New ICOM M323 VHF DSG radio fitted. 2013
  • New Webasto heating system and switches fitted, with addition heating vent to Aft deck. 2016
  • Seasmart toilet sanitizer unit fitted. 2014
  • Diesel fuel pump serviced, and injectors checked and cleaned. 2021

History and Construction

Aquastar Sea Ranger 32 version built by Aquastar Ltd in 1980 White GRP semi displacement hull with long keel profile, blue styling stripe, substantial rubbing strakes. White GRP superstructure.

Mechanical Systems

The Aquastar is powered by a 1980 Ford Watermota 6-cylinder 120hp diesel engine, fully rebuilt 2013, professionally serviced throughout current ownership (last service 2021), shaft drive to a fixed 3 bladed propellor, fitted with a Vetus bowthruster, 790 litre stainless steel fuel tank.

 

Electrical System

The boat has five 12-volt batteries

  • Battery 1, situated at the front of boat and operates the bow thruster and electric windlass via dedicated switches. Also has its own battery charger.
  • Battery 2, situated in red battery box in engine compartment, runs the Webasto heating system and feeds a switch panel for the rear camera and cooler box.
  • Batteries 3&4 connected in series, situated in red battery box in engine compartment, these are the domestic batteries and run everything that the other four batteries do not.
  • Battery 5, situated in red battery box in engine compartment, the engine battery.

All four batteries are charged via the new Bluetooth smart charger situated in the engine compartment, when on shore power.
