The Bavaria 36 provides class-leading accommodation with a spacious forward cabin and ample storage. 'Jal Amande' is the preferred owner's version featuring two double sleeping cabins, a roomy saloon, an aft galley, and extensive storage. AccommodationThe Bavaria 36 Owner's Version layout accommodates up to six berths with two double sleeping cabins and approximately 6'4" max. headroom.
General Equipment: Pressurized hot and cold water system via a calorifier with immersion coil. Eberspacher diesel-fired warm air heating system to all cabins. 50L holding tank. Excellent ventilation from numerous opening hatches and portlights. All deck hatches reglazed 2022/23. Teak and holly soleboards with yellow cloth upholstery and matching curtains. Throws, cushions, and blankets included. Crockery and cutlery.
Mechanical SystemsLocated beneath the companionway, the Volvo Penta MD2030 is a three-cylinder, 29hp marine diesel engine. Freshwater cooled via heat exchanger. Exhaust water lock replaced 2024. Single lever controls with electric start. Plastic 150 litre fuel tank. Volvo Penta saildrive (diaphragm changed 2017) with Ambassador rope cutter to a feathering three-bladed Kiwi-prop propeller. Sea-fire automatic fire extinguisher in the engine space.
The engine is in excellent cosmetic condition, last serviced in March 2024, and has been lightly used since, with 238 engine hours as of January 2025.
Electrical Systems3 x 12v batteries (2 x 180ah heavy-duty domestic and 90ah engine start, all new 2022) charged via engine alternator with Sterling charge regulator. Shorepower system with ring mains, automatic battery charger, and immersion coil for water heating. Victron battery management system. Electrical distribution panel. Full cabin lighting. Spars and SailsFractional rigged Bermudan sloop with Selden aluminum, deck-stepped, double swept back spreader in-mast furling mast and boom. Discontinuous stainless steel standing rigging (new 2020). Adjustable backstay. Spinnaker pole. Terylene running rigging. In-mast furling mainsail system. Furlex 200S headsail furling system. Adjustable genoa cars. All lines led aft via rope clutches. 2 x Harken 4016 self-tailing two-speed sheet winches. 2 x Harken self-tailing halyard winches.
The Bavaria 36 was built in 2002 by Bavaria Yachts to a design by J & J Design. It features a white GRP hull with blue style stripes, superstructure, and decks with molded non-slip surfaces. The underwater hull was re-epoxied in 2020, having been previously epoxied in 2008 as a preventative measure. It has a cast iron fin keel and wheel steering to a spade hung rudder. The cockpit features a Lagun removable swiveling teak table and is self-draining with teak-laid sole and seats.
