Boat Description

The First 29 was designed as a fast cruiser with comfortable family accommodation. Double cabins for and aft and 2 single saloon berths mean room for a crew of 6. Based at the coast for much of its life and brought to Windermere by the current owner in 2022, the standing and running rigging were replaced as part of re-commissioning on the lake. The swing keel was serviced in 2023. There is a custom made yard trailer available by separate negotiation.

GRP construction with Swing keel (0.72m to 2.00m draft), and twin rudders with tiller steering.

Powered by a Volvo 2002 18hp diesel with shaft driven 2 bladed, bronze propeller. Last serviced in 2023. A bank of 2 x 12V batteries (new 2023) provide engine start and service power and are charged via twin alternators.

Mast-head Bermudan rig with deck stepped alloy mast and spars. The standing and running rigging were all replaced in 2020.

Slab reefing Mainsail and roller furling Genoa. There is also a Storm Jib.

Double cabins fore and aft plus 2 single saloon berths accommodate 6. The galley currently has no oven fitted (available with the boat) but does have a sink with manual cold water, fridge and storage. A new flexible water tank has been purchased but not fitted. The diesel cabin heater is also being replaced.
