In order to be on the French Flag the French authorities would have to have approved the yachts TVA/VAT paid status. When the French Flag is cancelled this is done by French Customs/Douanes and would not be closed if there were taxes to pay. The French Closure document ‘Certificate du Radiation was issued by Customs and further supported by an email in 2019 from French Customs in Lorient stating the yacht was closed TVA acquittee (VAT paid)
