Beneteau Oceanis 'Clipper'£44,950
This relatively late, lifting keeledexample of the popular Bénéteau Oceanis 331; originally supplied to the 'Clipper' specification has benefited significantly from recent replacements and upgrades of equipment in the last two ownerships over the past five years. Notable, amongst many, are the full replacement of the sail wardrobe, replacement of the standing and much of the running rigging, the fitting of a self-feathering propeller and the installation of a bow thruster.
Twin rudders combine with a stub ballasting fin keel (with a deep, high aspect fin dropping down from within) to provide a secure, three-point landing for this 10m yacht to be able to moor/anchor in drying harbours and bays - or simply to be able to 'wriggle' up shallow creeks and estuaries - wherever others are precluded! The twin rudders offer reliable tracking to windward and the high-aspect hydrodynamic fin provides good lift to counter the leeway that could be anticipated from a yacht with just 1.0m draught.
This Oceanis 331 also features a flexible 3 double cabin layout offering 6 to 8 berths and niceties such as cabin heating, 240V AC, on board wi-fi and digital music entertainment.

This Beneteau Oceanis 331 has the more flexible; two 'aft double' cabins and 'master' cabin forward layout that can offer either growing children individual, equal-sized cabins, or alternatively, the greater bulk stowage space if one of those cabins is devoted to being the 'garage' for bulky deck paraphernalia, folding bikes, etc.
Comfort and on-board entertainment are provided for by a diesel-fired warm air heating system, together with a Fusion MS- RA205 Wi-Fi capable entertainment unit and a Digital Yacht iKommunicate unit for internet accessibility.
The majority of the interior lighting has been upgraded by the lighting of LED lamps, plus an additional LED lamp fitting above the galley; whilst taking the opportunity to fit tasteful background lighting behind the longitudinal surfaces of the headliner, above the side ports in the main saloon.
The accommodation is laid out as follows (from forward):
Forward Cabin:
V-shaped, double berth with infilling cushion.
Hanging locker to port, open shelf each side of the vee berth.
Overhead opening deck hatch with roller blind.
Sliding door to saloon.
Saloon:
Central drop-leaf table, fitted over the keel box and comfortably seating six.
Water tank under starboard settee & storage under port settee.
Cupboards and open shelves each side.
Fixed hull ports to each side provide good light values.
Overhead opening deck hatch.
Opening coachroof portlights toward the aft end encouraging good cross-flow ventilation
Chart table:
Aft facing chart table to port side, immediately forward of the galley, with internal chart storage and adjacent main electrical switch panel & navigation instruments
Galley area:
Large L-shaped galley to port of the companionway with S/S sink with mono bloc mixer tap. Hot & cold water supply plus hand-pumped freshwater back up.
Top opening, insulated and 12v refrigerated cool box.
Two burner ENO gas hob and oven with grill.
Opening coachroof portlight providing good galley ventilation.
Shelved locker beneath sink, with provision for rubbish bag and useful utensil stowage on the back of the door.
Heads Compartment:
Located to starboard, opposite the galley and conveniently close to the foot of the companionway. The relatively central location provides equal access to all three sleeping cabins and easy daytime use.
Primarily based upon a GRP, wash-down moulding, the compartment is fitted with a manual marine-flushing toilet, a moulded basin with hot & cold water supply and shower attachment. Shower tray pump out and heater outlet.
Port Aft Cabin:
Double berth cushions.
Hanging locker.
Fixed hull port and 2 x opening portlights providing good light levels and cross-flow ventilation.
Starboard Aft Cabin:
In effect, very nearly a mirror image of the port aft cabin in the facilities that this cabin offers, this one has a slightly bigger floor area. Same portlights and lockers fitted.
A single spreader, masthead-rigged sloop on aluminium alloy spars by Z Spars, with conventionally, slab-reefed mainsail and Furlex roller-reefing system for the headsails.
The standing rigging has been replaced (2018) and subsequently professionally inspected, checked and re-tuned in 2021.
Much of the running rigging has been replaced, but date of supply unverified (believed to have been at time of the fitting of the bowsprit for the Gennaker - in which case it would have been 2019.
Harken 'top-down' furler for the asymmetric 'Gennaker'
Rod kicker to support the boom when reefing the mainsail and an acrylic 'Stack-pack style mainsail cover to support the sail on the boom and provide convenience in stowing the sail.
Winches:
2 x Harken 30ST self-tailing coachroof-mounted winches to handle halyards and reefing lines.
2 x Harken 30ST self-tailing headsail sheet winches
Sails:
Volvo Penta MD2030D 29hp 3- cylinder, indirectly cooled diesel engine driving a three-bladed, self-feathering propeller through a conventional shaft. A rope cutter is fitted ahead of the propeller (both fitted new in March 2020). The 'Cutless' bearing had already been replaced (2019). The engine's water pump is reported to have also been re-built in 2019.
Currently showing around1314 Hours run (Late November 2022)
This Oceanis is also fitted with a bow-thruster by 'Side Power'; reportedly fitted in 2018.
A warm air heating system by Webasto was originally fitted, with a later 2kW Chinese unit having subsequently been fitted too; with outlets in the saloon, forward cabin and heads compartment.

At the cockpit's helming position:
