Bossoms of Oxford had the idea to build a stable, inland waterways friendly, electric cabin cruiser. Moonshine was the result. The Windrush 25 is a true tardis with seating forward and aft as well as a large cabin area with lots of storage, a full shower and galley as well as sleeping for two. In 2020 new batteries were fitted to either side of the hull tucked cleverly below the locker spaces on either side of the main cabin.

The design features a low draft of just 2ft or 0.61 metres and a relatively wide beam which precludes narrow canals but would suit the Grand Union and any lake or river network.

The boat was constructed in 2008 but remained at the yard as a demonstrator until a couple bought her in 2014. She resold in 2019 when the new batteries were installed, all mahogany brightwork revarnished, gelcoat polished and new antifouling applied. The vendors tell me that their family loved the boat but now need something larger for the future. They added a new and unused electric cassette toilet, 12 volt internal and external lighting as well as some new instrumentation including a state of charge meter. The shower and sinks have a hot and cold water supply and there is a 240 volt generator on board.

The electric package is based on a 2.2 kw Vetus EP2200KL which was fully serviced in 2020. The on board charger was replaced in 2019.

A full inventory includes a winter cover, summer covers for both cockpits, cushions inside and out, a set of oars, anchor with chain and warp, life ring, mooring lines, spikes and mallet.
