Broker notes Wandering Star, currently afloat, is an exceptional Starlight 35 in terms of overall condition and equipment and more particularly she has had the benefit of only two owners, both of whom equipped the boat and maintained her to a high standard. Bowman Yachts completed Wandering Star to an unusually high spec for the first owner Dr Smith, with no expense spared and a record ex-works cost of £137,000! During the first 10 years, Dr Smith engaged in a round-Ireland cruise and then cruising West coast Scotland and later, several years in the Baltic. However, for health reasons Dr Smith then asked Lucas Yachting to find a new worthy buyer. Geoff became the new owner of Wandering Star, having been searching for such a special 35 for several years. He has continued to maintain her to the same high standard, mainly cruising South coast and Brittany - his adjacent complimentary comments are interesting and reassuring. After this further 10 years of careful ownership, Wandering Star is now again on the market, for age and health reasons and we are again privileged to be dealing with this rather special Starlight 35. We have agreed an asking price at a competitive £66,900 and our objective now is to find the buyer who will appreciate this splendid Starlight and take her on for the next 10 years or more hopefully. Do call Mike for more detailOwner comments I have owned Wandering Star for a period of 10 years and I am the second owner from new. I have made many channel crossings with her and cruise most of the South Coast of England and found her to be in all respects a superbly comfortable sea-boat, which is capable of making some deceptively fast passages. Her wing keel has a relatively shallow draft for a boat of this size, which enables her to explore destinations not possible with similar boats with deeper draft - the wing keel certainly provides for exceptional seagoing capability, particularly in higher wind strengths and rough weather. My reason for now very reluctantly selling Wandering Star is our increasing age - my wife and I have sailed together for 35 years and now feel that time has come to do other things whilst we are still capable. This is the sole reason for the sale, which I have now entrusted to Mike Lucas.Lucas Yachting are yacht brokers representing boats throughout the UK.
