Beautifully constructed steel sailing vessel an internal fit out to a very high standard. This boat is for the cruising couple who want to spend extended periods at sea and undergo long passages. Two spacious double cabins, comfortable saloon, proper navigation area and a large gelley with plentiful storage. Mid mounted 78hp Ford Puma inboard diesel provides reliability when the wind dies and a Fischer Panda generator provides back up to the batteries when at anchor.
Excellent inventory to suit most occasions. Viewing highly recommended.
Owners will listen to sensible offers
Vessel is powered by a marinised Ford Puma N inboard diesel supplied by Lancing marine. The engine was built in 2004 but not used until launch in 2007/8 season. This 4-cylinder work horse is rated as 78hp and has completed 826 serviced hours to date. Access for daily checks is via the large access panel in the aft cabin. From here you can carry out servicing and daily checks. Last service was February 2023.
Flush mounted engine start panel incorporated into companionway behind a protective perspex screen. Gauges include rev counter, oil pressure, temperature and charging. gauges for fuel and high level alarms for grey and black water tanks. Single lever engine control mounted on binnacle.
ZF reduction gearbox driving a stainless steel shaft and 3-bladed bronze propeller. This will push the boat along at a not too shabby 6 knots under engine.
Fuel is stored in 2x aluminium tanks of 260 litres capacity each. This will provide a range of approximately 480 miles between fill ups.
12/240V panel at chart table with illuminating selector switches. 12V side has a engine start battery and a bank of 3X120Amp house batteries. These are recharged either by the 100amp engine alternator or by the battery charger. There is also a Fischer Panda 4.5Kva generator which will run the essential services when not in harbour. Heart interface management system provides a visual and digital readout regarding battery health and levels. This has an inbuilt inverter.
Bermudan sloop rigged yacht with deck stepped, double spreader aluminium spars. The rig is by Z-Spars UK who advised and supplied the owner based on what he wanted to do and that he would be sailing short-handed. Although there is no spinnaker pole, Z-Spars advised to have the mast track fitted along with the halyards and winches should he wish to add at a later date.
Winches are all by Harken and are 2-speed self tailers. The genoa furler has its own ST40, halyard winches are ST44 and the genoa sheet winches are both ST60.2. I am led to believe that these could be electrified if required at a later date.
Rigging is stainless steel dyform installed in 2007.
Sails include a fully battened main mounted in a stackpack on the boom with single line reefing. The headsail has just had a new UV strip attached and is in good condition. Both sails are heavy dacron and manufactured by Quaysails.
Well equipped yacht with an excellent inventory. Included in the sale are:
Below decks is in lovely condition and those who have experience long periods afloat will appreciate the amount of provision there is for storage of what you actually need.
Our owner looked long and hard at many boat interiors before deciding to build his own. He wanted the hull shape and easy handling that the BR434 offered but he wanted an interior that was both roomy but comfortable.
The inspiration for the interior of this boat was the Shearwater 45. This layout provides two generous cabins at either end of the yacht, a huge galley with lots of workspace, a large chart table and a saloon that has a comfortable dinette seating area. This could be easily converted to another double without too much thought or cost.
The saloon is entered from the cockpit via double doors and a sliding hatch. The interior fit out is bright and airy with light coloured oak veneers and solid trims.
At the foot of the companionway steps you will find the galley on the port side. This is a L-shaped affair with excellent preparation areas finished in easy clean formica. There is a double stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressurised water, a top loading freezer compartment and a Nelson gas fuelled oven with 2-burner hob and grill. Front loading Waeco fridge with separate ice compartment. Above at bench height is a 240V microwave oven which will operate at sea either through the inverter or the onboard generator. Storage here is phenomenal with deep cupboards, dedicated pan and utensil drawers and handy racks for cups and spice storage. Really good natural light and ventilation at the galley from the overhead deck hatches and opening ports.
Opposite the gallet is the forward facing chart table with 3/4 chart desk desk, seat and 12/240V switch panels. Here are the controls for the onboard electrical management system and generator. Chart reading deck light with night vision provision. Storage cupboard built into chart table. Padded seat with back rest.
Mid-ships and on the port side is a U-Shaped seating area with table. This can sit 6 persons in comfort and features well upholstered seating, flat screen TV and two storage cupboards either side of a shelved area with fiddles. Opposite here on the starboard side is a 2-seater settee again with storage cupboard and shelved unit.
The bow cabin is bright and comfortable with an almost rectangular berth instead of a traditional V option. Large double hanging wardrobe to port whilst to starboard is a dressing table with storage unit above and both drawer and cupboard space below. 12V lighting throughout and opening ports and deck hatches for light and ventilation.
Returning to the saloon and moving aft of the chart table is the other stateroom. Again this features a large double berth, opening port to cockpit, below bunk storage, dressing seat, dressing table and a huge double wardrobe with both hanging space and shelving.
Aft of the galley is the heads compartment with stainless steel sink unit, pressurised hot and cold water, pull out shower head, mirrored vanity unit and storage cupboards below. Porcelain heads with manual flush and 140 Litre holding tank.
There is a utility/work room accessed via the heads. This gives access to the starboard side of the engine, the generator, the steering gear and exhaust system. Also here is a shelved storage unit, work bench and Candy washing machine.
This is truly a go anywhere, blue water cruiser which has been built with long range cruising in mind. It has been thoughtfully laid out with all essential systems easily accessible.
Steel constructed yacht built by the owner to plans from Bruce Roberts. The hull and topsides are made from 5mm plate. Her hull is hard chined making her very comfortable to sail. Fin keel with 3,900 Kgs of resin encapsulated ballast. Her topsides are a smart mid-navy blue. Her underwater areas are coated using Jotun Vinyguard 66 antifoul and primer coatings.
Welded steel rudder with wheel steering. Box section propeller mount with cutlass bearing.
Deck and superstructure are in 3mm plate. The deck is finished in attractive and easily maintained "Flexi-Teak" panels. The coachroof is finished in white paint. Stainless steel pulpit and pushpit rails connected by stainless steel stanchions and a double set of guardwires. There are side gates port and starboard. Nice wide side decks lead forward to the foredeck with stainless steel bow fitting, electric windlass and anchor. Stainless steel fairleads through bolted to toe rails with mooring cleats through bolted to the deck.
Large deep cockpit with teak grate for comfort. Cockpit has a binnacle mounted table and bespoke cushions. This area is kept clean and dry thanks to the full cockpit enclosure with bimini top and removable side panels.
Transom mounted with swim/access ladder. Stainless steel davit for lowering outboard to dinghy. Holders for flag staff and horseshoe buoys and danbuoy.
