The original C&C 33 was designed in 1974 as a custom three-quarter tonner but after three boats and high market demand the factory began building the design as a production model and 165 MK1's were produced. The popularity of this model isn't surprising to anyone who has sailed her. This design is a strong example of why C&C gained a reputation for high-performance sailing yachts. She is a masthead sloop with a total sail area of 502 ft.
