Cabo Yachts are a well-regarded brand of offshore sportfishing yachts ranging from 31 to 52 feet. While no longer in production, there are many used Cabo Yachts for sale that are highly sought-after. Search for used Cabo Yachts and refine your searches by location, price range, or size.
Cabo Yachts took the sportfishing world by storm back in the 1990s, with their line-up of high-performing, comfortable offshore fishing boats. They were American-made, with a reputation for serious fishability, speed, and all the accessories you could need for a day of offshore fishing. The economic decline in 2008 took its toll on the brand and it slowed production for a few years until it was bought by top brand Hatteras in 2010. Production ceased in 2013, and was briefly revived six years later with the introduction of the new Cabo 41 in 2019. Since then Cabo Yachts remain highly prized on the used market.
Cabo Yachts has always built mean fishing machines, known for their quality, reliability, and toughness. They are easy-to-own and durable boats, designed for no-frills fishing in rough conditions, although larger models offer weekend cruising capabilities thanks to large cabins.
Throughout the years Cabo Yachts have retained the same personality throughout all of their models, whether it's the more compact 31 Express or the unmistakable 52 Express. One of their first boats to be launched was the 35 Flybridge, which remains a strong seller to this day. The 45 Express was also highly regarded and won Boat of the Year from Boating Magazine.
Between the early 1990's and mid-2000s Cabo Yachts had an impressive line-up of sportfishing boats. Their smallest model was the Cabo 31 which, at the time, was unlike anything else in its class. Built on a modified-V and with a wide beam, it has more cabin space than other boats of that size (it can sleep four comfortably and has a head and galley), as well as a huge list of fishing accessories. Powered by powerful Cat 350hp diesels, it can cruise at 30 knots.
Moving up the size ladder, the Cabo 35 is available as the Express, Convertible, and Flybridge. In fact, the Cabo 35 was the first boat to be built by the brand and offered an impressive combination of offshore fishing and weekend cruising, with huge interior space as well as an over-sized cockpit.
There are 38, 40, and 43 models in circulation, each offering extra interior and deck space, more comfort on longer or rougher voyages and, in the case of the Flybridge and Express models, that constant focus on serious offshore sportfishing with all the livewells and fishboxes you could ever need.
The difference came in the Convertible models; by the time we reach the 40-foot and above boats, are entering the “yacht” realm and some are more sedan cruiser than sportfisher (although fishing was always accommodated). The 40 Convertible, for example, is no racehorse, with a cruising speed of 15–16 knots and a top speed around 25 knots. What she does have is two staterooms, a dinette, roomy cockpit, and spacious galley.
The largest in the company's history are the 52 Express and Flybridge, representing serious tournament-level sportfishing abilities. Designed to travel farther, for longer, and battle heavier sea conditions, the 52 is primed for fishing, from its twin, large-capacity fish boxes with macerators, transom bait tank, aft-positioned helm, and aluminum fighting chair being just the beginning of its long list of fishing accessories.
Some years after Hatteras acquired the brand, they released the Cabo 41. It nicely filled a gap in the market for a serious sportfisher that offered a touch of luxury and overnight capabilities. It also has distinct Hatteras styling but retains the Cabo personality.

The first Cabo Yacht to be built, the Cabo 35 Flybridge, has remained one the best-loved and most popular models. It was in production between 1992 and 2008 and is well-represented on the used market. Post-2000 models offered greater performance thanks to an adaptation of the hull. The 45 Express was also in production for 12 years and is highly regarded.
Cabo Yachts were built for serious offshore fishing, but offered the interior space and comforts required for weekends of cruising, too. They were revolutionary for their time, with inboard engines, wide beams, center consoles, and V-hulls creating excellent performance and seakeeping, and virtually unrivaled interior and deck space.
