DESCRIPTION

Boat Description

Camarc Ltd Design/Croft Marine Built Pilot Boat.

This particular vessel is from a one-off Pilot House design suited to diving/survey work. The Cummins NT855 with a MG507 Twin Disc gear box is included; however, it is seized. This engine has been removed from the boat but it will be supplied with the vessel in parts.

We do have a used 2020 Caterpillar C7.1 (350HP) diesel engine with approx 20 hours use that could be used if required. We will sell the boat as is or with the option of the Cat engine. Speak to us about your requirements.

The steel hull construction and typical pilot vessel features such as the fendering, functional MoB transom door, lifting davit, and hydraulic bow thruster make it ideally suited to many commercial roles. The vessel also has very good pushing capability due to its design. It was an MCA Coded to Cat. 3 vessel.

The Cummins NT855 is naturally aspirated, driving conventionally through reduction gearboxes with a MG507 Twin Disc gear box. The main engine has failed and is currently considered unserviceable and therefore subject to a rebuild if viable or replacement.

The engine room has check-a-plate flooring with access to the lower bilge areas, air extraction via large vents. Exhausts have inline silencers and exit through the aft to tank room and up through the wheelhouse. Watertight ‘dogged’ door leads forward to the fore peak which holds a hydraulic bow thruster and the tank room aft with further access to the steering compartment beyond. There is provision within the deck head for engine extraction. There is a genset from Beta Marine 4-kilowatt Kubota engine that supplies power for onboard charger, 240v sockets, and a heater for the wheelhouse.

DESIGN: This vessel was purpose-built as a pilot vessel and follows a standard format with central helm position, maximized vision laterally and viewing windows within the wheelhouse superstructure for upward vision when boarding ships. The wheelhouse is placed amidships at deck level to facilitate ease of access for pilots to enter and leave the cabin area.

WHEELHOUSE: The helmsman and crew have dedicated seating Helm, 1-2 crew, 2-3 pilots, 5 seats in total. A chart table and storage drawer and central wooden door opens outwards onto the after deck. The helm console is positioned centrally to maximize peripheral vision and all operational instrumentation can be easily monitored including electronic navigational aids, engine controls, and instruments. Passive lighting is provided for night operations and the vessel is fitted with appropriate internal and external lighting including deck illumination. Access to the fuel tanks, steering pumps, and valve chest via a hatch in the middle of the wheelhouse deck and access to the engine room and fore peak via a hatch STB side of the wheelhouse.

EXTERNAL: The working deck from aft of the wheelhouse to the bow is flush to gunwale and provides one level access forward to the boarding area, inboard safety rails are fitted with Hadrian’s rail tracks. A forward ‘island’ rail is fitted. The aft section is a well deck area with freeing ports accessed from aft of the wheelhouse Port or STB sides. There is a door within the transom with a fold-down ladder which drops down for ‘man-over-board’ recovery and also a lifting davit fitted. A raised central structure serves as access to fuel & water tanks at the rear end of the engine room. The vessel has a signal mast atop the wheelhouse with operational lighting.

Construction

Steel Hull and superstructure based on design by Camarc Ltd.
