Designed by German Frers and built to exacting standards by Carroll Marine, the Frers 41 is truly a gem. This is a comfortable yacht with pretty lines, yet she is built for serving the dual purpose of both racing and cruising.
This particular vessel has proven herself to be a winner in the past, having won the San Francisco Big Boat Series, numerous class wins in the Chicago Mackinac Race, numerous Chicago Offshore Championships and having won the Chicago Boat of the Year Awards.
In addition to her speed, the practically designed interior accommodations and seaworthy deck and cockpit make her well-suited to cruising offshore in safety and comfort.

The interior layout is open and airy and there are berths for seven, easily accommodating owners and guests. There is good natural ventilation from opening ports and hatches and storage is abundant with excellent load carrying capabilities for an extended coastal cruise.
From the companionway, there are six steps down to the main salon. Large and comfortable, the salon has plenty of room for friends and family to gather at the end of the day or to enjoy a quiet moment while underway. There are two settees port and starboard with a pilot berth above the port settee. The starboard settee has a drop down, fold out table on the forward bulkhead. The main salon table in the folded position preserves the passageway to starboard; when fully opened, four are easily accommodated for a shared meal.
The L-shaped galley is to starboard of the companionway. A forward facing, deep double sink is near the centerline of the boat. Storage, three burner propane stove/oven and refrigeration run along the outboard counter. Cabinets with sliding laminate covered doors extend the length of the galley providing excellent storage for plates, dishes, cookware and basic provisions. There are additional drawers and cabinets along the aft bulkhead and hot and cold pressure water supplemented with foot pumps for both fresh and salt water. A small counter under the companionway offers additional prep area.
The aft facing nav station is to port of the companionway. The large chart table gives ample room for voyage planning with good storage from navigation tools under the top lifting table. There is an additional drawer inboard of the table, electrical panels outboard and instrumentation along the bulkhead. The comfortable nav station bench seat is a continuation of the port settee. The proximity of the nav station to the cockpit is excellent, allowing for good communication between the helmsman and navigator.
A passageway forward from the main salon leads to the enclosed V-berth stateroom with slated horizontal wood battens along the cabin sides. The 6’ 8” long berths comfortably sleep two. Natural light is abundant and ventilation is provided from the large overhead hatch. There are two reading lights, an overhead light and 110 v outlet and bulkhead mounted mirror. A bench seat aft and to starboard of the berth has storage below and cabinet above and outboard. Access to the chain locker is forward of the V-berth.
The head is located to port along the passageway to the V-berth. With a separate shower stall, marine toilet and built-in sink, this head is extremely functional. Additional store is located on the starboard side of the passageway, opposite the head.
The aft port quarter of the boat is dedicated to an enclosed double berth. Light and ventilation from three opening ports and one opening hatch result in an aft stateroom that is actually enjoyable to be in. There is also a large hanging locker and a two-cabinet bureau forward of the berth.
