2014 Chris Craft 28ft Launch Heritage Trim Edition

Chris-Craft harkened back to their mahogany roots with the introduction in 2003 of the retro-style 28 Launch, a high-quality bowrider whose meticulous detailing and classic tumblehome stern set her well apart from anything on the market. Today, the Launch 28 is highly sought after for the unmatched performance and design.

Built on a deep-V hull with a well-flared bow, this vessel can easily handle rougher waters. The cockpit is notable, not just for its plush Ultraleather seating and custom entertainment centre, but for its simplicity and comfort as well. The wider Launch 28 includes generous fore and aft seating, with a double-wide captain’s chair that allows the driver to share the view.

Overview

In the owners' view:

It's the extra-wide beam of the 2014 Launch 28 that makes the greatest difference; in the ability to seat at least 10 people comfortably, in the built-in comfort for its passengers, in the added stability over the water, and in the ability to have twin power, something not available in the newer Launch 28.

This 2014 Launch 28 is in new condition.

For its first 7 years, the boat was hardly used and stored in a covered boathouse.

In October 2020, when It was purchased by the current owners, the twin Mercruiser/Bravo 3 engines had 35 hours on each.

As of July 2021, the engines have 46 hours on them.

The owner and their family are enjoying this boat immensely despite all the bad weather we have been having in Southern Ontario.

The boat is painted in Chris-Craft's wonderful Midnight blue with a red waterline stripe and an off-white color for the hull, interior and upholstery.

This boat is fully equipped with features and extras. It is the Heritage Edition, which includes a fully finished in solid teak wood; the top deck, the floors, the deck trim, the swim platform, the engine cover and more.

All remaining trim is in stainless steel. The cushions are Chris Craft's special vinyl in 2 colour tones with the specially sewn centres quite unique to Chris Craft's reputation for making everything of the highest quality.

There is a head-on board, a special power anchor and windlass system, a bimini top that stows in a hidden channel under the teak engine cover, a swim ladder mounted under the swim platform, plenty of storage throughout, full sets of gauges on the dashboard, completed in Chris Craft's unique style, and many other features.

While the Launch 28 is a modern boat in every way, it preserves so many features and appearance characteristics of the most beautiful boats made years ago that we still admire today.
