Built in Falmouth by R.S. Burt and sons in 1925 as a Falmouth Quay Punt, she was however purchased immediately by a London based owner and fitted out as a yacht from the beginning.
She remained in the West Country until the late 1960’s when she moved to Cowes and then on to Suffolk.
In the previous ownership she had a major restoration in the early 1990’s with a complete new rig and many hull repairs carried out.
In recent years she has been used very little but has recently had a small refit including new keel bolts, new rudder pintles …

Construction
- Carvel planked in pitch pine of approximately 1” thickness.
- Sawn oak frames fastened with bronze screws. Steamed intermediate timbers fastened with copper rivets.
- Galvanised strap floors across the centreline
- External iron ballast keel of approximately 2 tons. Internal lead trimming ballast.
- 6 keel bolts, 3 replaced in 2023 in mild steel coated in Stockholm Tar. 4th bolt replaced in 2011.
- T&G pine deck overlaid with plywood and sheathed with glass cloth then finished with non slip deck paint.
- Small coachroof with varnished mahogany coamings and a sheathed coachroof deck.
- Varnished teak butterfly skylight in the coachroof.
- Self draining cockpit with tiller steering on a transom hung rudder. 2 of the rudder hangings replaced in 2023.
- Galvanised tiller with a cut out to go around the mizzen mast.
- New anodes and anode bolts in 2023.
Rig
- Gaff yawl rig on varnished spruce spars.
- Deck stepped main mast in a galvanised tabernacle with gaff rig.
- Galvanised wire standing rigging new in 1990, to external galvanised chain plates.
- Running backstays on tackles.
- Deck stepped Bermudan rigged mizzen mast with a bumpkin.
- Wyckham Martin roller furling system on the jib. Hanked on staysail.
- All blocks are varnished ash with 3 strand traditional running rigging.
- Mainsail, mizzen, staysail and jib from James Lawrence, 1990. All in good condition and used very little. Topsail, No.2 jib and large staysail are all older and in fair condition.
Machinery
- Beta Marine 16hp twin cylinder diesel engine fitted new in 2011. Less than 20 hours run time since new.
- Technodrive gearbox and stainless shaft to a centreline fixed 3 blade bronze propeller. Cruising speed of approximately 5 knots.
- Stern gland packing replaced in 2023.
- 15 gallon fibreglass fuel tank in port cockpit locker, new in 2020.
- 2 x 12 volt batteries charged from the engine alternator.
- Single manual bilge pump.
- Engine driven pump for deck wash and bilge pumping.
Accommodation
- 4 berths including 2 saloon pilot berths and a double in the forepeak.
- Headroom of 5’11” in the saloon.
- Steps down from the companion hatch with the galley to port and chart desk to starboard.
- Galley has a Taylors 030 2 burner stove with twin stainless sinks and manually pumped fresh water. Good storage space under the deckhead.
- Chart desk faces aft with a small comfortable seat.
- Half height bulkheads into the saloon with vertical hand rail to port.
- Small settee either side with a fold out centreline saloon table.
- Each side is a pilot berth that pulls out above the settees with trotter boxes at the forward ends.
- Forward bulkhead of varnished T&G teak with paraffin cabin lamps.
- Starboard offset passageway moving forward with hanging locker to starboard and heads compartment to port.
- Heads has a manual Jabsco sea toilet which discharges directly overboard. Hand basin pulls out above the heads with manually pumped fresh water.
- Forecabin has 2 large single berths with an infill to create a good sized double.
