DESCRIPTION

Remarks :
This yacht is a good example of an early South Coast One Design built in 1957 by Woodnuts on the Isle of White. This is a real classic yacht which has the additional head room offered by the raised doghouse containing the galley and chart table. She is built from Mahogany on oak with pine mast and spars.Remarks :

This is a real classic yacht which has the additional head room offered by the raised doghouse containing the galley and chart table. She is built from Mahogany on oak with pine mast and spars. This particular SCOD has lots of history including starring in a Woody Allan film, appearing at the Earls Court Boat Show in 2007 and featured on the front cover of Classic Boat in June 2006.  She is reluctantly being sold due to ill health.  A 2016 survey report is available upon request. 
Accommodation :

This SCOD was designed with cruising in mind so has a traditional layout below with a galley in the port quarter by the companionway;. Headroom at the companionway is 1.7m. The galley has a two burner Taylors stove, single sink with manual pumped cold water.  The chart table and navigation station are opposite with trotter boxes underneath to lengthen the saloon berths on either side of the cabin. Upholstery is blue in colour. She benefits form the traditional wood interior which gives a warm and cosy feeling which is enhanced by the Taylors cabin heater. 

Forward is the traditional heads with Baby Blakes head and sail storage space. There is a large cockpit for the size of the yacht. It has a full cockpit tent that extends over the doghouse giving additional protection and storage.

History and Construction:

Built in 1957 this SOCD is built using carvel wood construction using planked mahogany on steamed oak timers on a mahogany keel stern and stern post with iron ballast keel and wooden transom hung rudder. She had a new cockpit in 2008 and new wiring throughout at the time. She had her keel bolts drawn and inspected and re-galvanized in 1995. This yacht has been owned by the current owner for the past 22 years

She was last out of the water in 2021 when she was antifouled. 


Mechanical :
Sails and Spars:

The yacht has a Bermudian fractional keel steeped pine mast and boom. It is fitted with stainless steel standing rigging that was new in 2016. It has a single forstay, split backstay to stainless steel quarter plates, cap shrous and twin lowers to stainless steel rigging screws and galvanised external chain plates. It has a slab reefing mainsail with hank on headsail.

Yanmar 2 GM two cylinder 12Hp diesel engine, seawater cooled,  last serviced 2021. Engine mounted on the centre line driving a 3 blade fixed bronze propeller. It has two stainless steel fuel tanks holding a total of 50 litres. She will cruise at 6.5 knots and has a maximum speed of 7.5 Knots. 
Electrical Systems:
1 x 12-volt 90Ah domestic battery, 1 x 12-volt 90Ah Engine battery,  Charging from the engine alternator and solar panel.
