Wooden Ships Comments
Designed by Linton Hope and built in 1914 by Aldous of Brightlingsea.
There is a detailed record of the history of the boat, who owned her and where she was kept. Bought by the present owner in 1976 who in conjunction with a friend undertook a major refit to prepare her for long distance short handed ocean sailing. She has over the last 40 years covered many thousands of miles and visited many countries, including a cruise to Iceland in 2016. Now sadly for sale as the owner passed away in 2017.
Built as a flush decked cruising yacht with a gaff rig, she has been altered to make her more suitable for modern cruising giving more space below decks, more comfort and importantly more safety at sea. She has been ashore laid up for a year now but appears to be a solid and fundamentally sound vessel, very robustly built and obviously well cared for in her long ownership.
Inspected by Wooden Ships in December 2017 with a full set of photos available. Detailed lists of her history and historical photos also available.
