Great example of the ever popular Colvic Watson 25'6" model. Supplied as a hull, deck and superstructure along with an engine in 1982, she was then sold in 1987 to an owner who started the fit out in earnest. There is a plate on the boat displaying the name "John Hill- Shipwright" and judging by the standard of the fit out, I would say that he was heavily involved. She is well founded, dry and comfortable with good equipment.
Remarks :Great example of the ever popular Colvic Watson 25'6" model. Although original, her Thornycroft engine is still very reliable. Standing rigging replaced in 2016.
Early viewing recommended.
Bright and spacious accommodation with berths for 4 persons. The accommodation starts in the wheelhouse which is entered via a lockable sliding door from the cockpit. To starboard there is a co-pilot/navigators seat with storage below and a fold out chart table. To port is the helm with pedestal mounted seat.
Partially louvered door opens outwards to allow access into the cabin. Two steps down and to starboard is the spacious heads with marine toilet. This is a bright, well ventilated, easy clean area. Opposite the heads is the saloon seating/dining area with central table. The table lowers to form a large double bed. Opposite the seating area is the linear galley with clean work surfaces, stainless steel sink with drainer and cold fresh water tap. Below is a front loading fridge to keep perishables and the beers cold. Gimballed gas hob with 2-burner and grill..
Bow cabin with V-Berth. Cubby hole storage areas at either end of forward berths, Storage below.
Cushions are in excellent condition as are all the headlinings. 12V deck head lighting. 3-Pin sockets usable when attached to shore power.
Heavy lay-up GRP hull with round bilge under water profile and additional bilge plates port and starboard. Counter hung and keel mounted rudder with prop protection bar. Teak stem protector. White gel coat topsides with hull to deck join finished in large diameter D-Fendering. Flared bow minimises water on to deck. Stainless steel bow rail with stanchions port and starboard. Twin set of guardwires. Self bailing side decks finished on blue non slip painted panels.Stainless steel bow fitting with nylon roller.
Raised cochroof finished in non slip "Treadmaster" panels. Teak grab rails. Wheel house with triple forward facing windows and large, panoramic side windows port and starboard. These slide open for ventilation. Window frames were resealed in 2017. Timber rear doors. Large cockpit with Stainless steel aft rails with teak capping. Timber grate sole. Deck drains with stop cocks in engine bay. Storage lockers port and starboard. Cockpit kept dry by aft enclosure with frame.
EnginesVessel powered by a Thornycroft 90 inboard diesel engine. This was supplied by Colvic as part of the initial purchase but was not used or commissioned until around 1988/89. Situated within the wheelhouse and beneath the sole, she is in good working order and starts easily. They are very economical and reliable units and there is no reason why she wont continue to offer good service for many years to come.
Reduction gearbox driving a 3-blade bronze propeller. Single lever morse control and full engine instrumentation. Engine last serviced in May 2019 but due to Covid and lockdowns, she has done little since.
Bank of 3x12V batteries providing engine start and domestic power. Batteries are fitted with a rotary style selector and are recharged via the engine alternator or bty the battery charger when attached to shore power.
Sails & RiggingSloop rigged yacht with deck stepped aluminium spars mounted in an alloy tabernacle. Aluminium boom with mainsail mounted in stack pack with lazy jack lines. Mainsheet and associated reefing lines led to cockpit on port side. Roller furling headsail system with genoa track mounted inboard of gunwales. Both main and genoa are of an undetermined age but are definitely not original. They were both valeted, checked in 2017.
