This Contessa 32 - Checkmate is available for sale following a significant refit and upgrade by J. Rogers in 2008. A new mast was installed in 2015, and the hull was stripped and re-coated in 2024.

The Contessa 32 was first introduced in 1973, designed by David Sadler and built by Jeremy Rogers. After J. Rogers ceased production, M. J. Slack Yachts took over, known for their high-quality fit out and joinery.

Checkmate features sail number CO906, molded in 1989 and certified by the Class association on 6th July 1990 for the first owner.

The second and current owner acquired her in 1998 and has enjoyed cruising the Solent and South Coast. She has never been raced under current ownership.

The Contessa 32 is designed to balance speed, seagoing ability, and accommodation. The enduring popularity of this model is a testament to its design and robust build quality.
