The lines of the Swedish Stjarnbat were adapted by James Croll to give a slightly larger and more seaworthy boat with a good turn of speed, easy handling and also being nice to look at. This particular boat had a lot of work done in the previous ownership to the deck and coachroof including the addition of varnished coverboards, a lovely touch on a boat like this. She has been kept in great condition and is well equipped, including a custom made road trailer. Construction Hull Planked in 3/4" pine all copper fastened to steam bent oak timbers, 30mm x 15mm at 170mm centres. External iron ballast keel with stainless keel bolts. Grown oak floors. Decks and Cockpit Laid T&G pine deck fastened to the deck beams and sheathed. Finished in cream deck paint. Varnished iroko coverboards. Deep open cockpit with varnished iroko coamings. Scrubbed slatted sole boards. Little bit of shelter forward under the cuddy. Superstructure Small coachroof with varnished iroko coamings and a laid teak coachroof deck over a plywood sub deck Rig Fractional bermudan sloop rig on a solid keel stepped varnished wooden mast. Slab reefing varnished boom. Stainless standing rigging to external stainless chain plates. Single lower shroud and single cap shroud over a set of spreaders with a standing back stay and forestay to the stem head. Jumper struts to support the top section of the mast.
