If you are after a "go anywhere", comfortable cruising yacht that sails well then look no further. This steel built Robert Tucker designed sailing cruiser has the benefits of a long keel and twin bilge plates allowing her to perform as a long range cruiser with drying out capabilities. Reliable inboard Perkins diesel, deck stepped spars with easy to handle sail plan, she is a dream for the short handed sailor or for sailing with an inexperienced crew. Sailed extensively around the beautiful coastline of the UK, she is in a turn key condition, ready to make new memories and adventures with her next custodian.

Mechanical

Vessel is powered by a well maintained and reliable Perkins 4108 inboard diesel. This 48hp workhorse is situated directly below the companionway allowing easy access for daily checks or planned maintenance. Reduction gearbox driving a stainless steel shaft with 3-bladed propeller. Due to her hull shape she has a fair turn of speed under engine if required. Her cruising speed is 7 knots and at that level she will burn 0.5 gph at 1500 rpm. During her present ownership the engine has undergone her routine annual service but has had amongst other jobs, a new water pump, new fuel pump and preheat. She carries a spare alternator just in case should you find yourself with charging issues in remote areas.
Her stern gland has been serviced and new gland packing installed in 2021.

She has 12/240V systems onboard with a bank of 5x125amp batteries providing engine start, domestic power and anchor windlass operation. These are quickly charged via the engine alternator or can be trickle charged when sailing via the solar panels mounted on the foredeck. Batteries are fitted with a rotary style battery selector switch. There is also an inverter should you need to run 240V systems.

12V panel with illuminated switches. Extensive rewiring has been carried out including full mast rewire including new deck plugs and electric windlass rewired in 2021.

  • Solar charger
  • Inverter
  • Engine spares
  • Annual service
  • Full mast rewire including new lights
  • Anchor windlass rewire 2021

Rigging

Bermudan sloop rigged yacht with deck stepped aluminium spars. Boom mounted mainsail situated in a lazybag with lazy jack lines. This makes sail deployment a breeze. Main halyard and reefing lines are handled at the winches either side of the companionway hatch. The lines are led aft via a series of turning blocks through deck organisers to jammers. Roller furling headsail system with Anderson ST 2-speed winches mounted either side of cockpit to handle the genoa sheets. Mainsheet track mounted aft of helm to assist with short handed sailing.

Standing rigging is believed to be between 7-10 years old but has only been in service since 2015.  Running rigging is braid on braid type terylene and in very good condition.

Sail wardrobe is very simple with a battened mainsail of an indeterminate age but in a good serviceable condition and a 2017 roller furling headsail with  NEW UV strip.
Both sails are by renowned North West sailmaker Steve Goacher.

Accommodation

Well founded and comfortable accommodation with bright airy feel that makes life below decks, very pleasant indeed. The interior fit out is in my opinion to a very high standard with practical use made of the available storage space. All too often we see hanging space that is not fit for purpose. This is certainly not the case here.
The saloon is entered via the companionway sliding hatch. Nice shallow steps which are actually storage boxes and you are in the saloon. To port is the switch panel/electronic area with storage wardrobe aft. Long settee/berth which will convert to a comfortable double and a bulkhead mounted dining table which can double as a chart table. This drops out of the way when you are utilising the saloon double. Beneath this portside berth is compartmentalised storage with access to the engine start and windlass batteries.
Forward to the port side saloon seating is the heads compartment with a recently replaced sea toilet and shelfed storage for toiletries. Opening port for ventilation.
In the bow is the offset double berth with opening roof hatch for ventilation. Excellent storage options ghere below the berth and in the forward bulkhead. To starbod of the berth is drawer storage with an additional storage cupboard on top. The cabin is fully lined in hard wearing carpet for comfort. 12V deck head reading lights.
Returning to the saloon and continuing aft on the starboard side you will find another large hanging wardrobe. As well as housing clothing the Wallas heating unit is mounted here providing efficient heating system to the cabins. Aft is a cosy 2-seater settee again with storage below. Here you will find the deep cycle leisure batteries and the 12/240V inverter.
Moving aft is the galley with stainless steel double sink with pressurised cold fresh water. Adjacent is a gas fueled oven with a 4-burner hob and grill. There is an L-shaped work top/preparation area with large single cupboard and 3-drawer storage unit. A small 12V fridge sits on the counter top.

The interior was fully carpeted  in 2019 and the upholstery was replaced in 2018. The heads was replaced in 2020 and all interior headlinings have been renewed over the last five years. All windows and port lights have been resealed and are fully curtained.

Construction

The yacht is constructed using steel plate resulting in a hard chine under water profile with accentuated flared bow. This makes her quite a dry boat and any sea water that comes aboard is quickly dealt with by the scuppers. There is a heavy duty D-fender that runs fore to aft which offers protection to the topsides if against a sea wall. Below the waterline the plate is 5mm and above the waterline the topsides are 4mm whilst the transom is 3mm. A recent survey is available which shows that some expected wear has occurred, but is still pretty close to the original.
What is important is that the current owners have spared no expense in making her look good. There is not one bit of corrosion to be seen anywhere which is testament to the care, attention and materials used since they took ownership.

Every piece of plate has been rubbed down, primed and painted. The underwater areas have been regularly antifouled and anodes changed. Most recent was late 2021. The decks and coachroof are painted are painted in white gloss with smart grey non skid panels. Heavy duty bow and stern rails con-joined with stanchions all in stainless steel.
Large cockpit with locker storage port and starboard. Large water tight gas locker storage at transom. Numerous mooring bollards forward and aft. Full set of cockpit cushions.
