A beautiful Whitehall skiff built by Shew and Burnam of South Bristol, Maine. Believed to have been built around 1981.

An elegant rowing skiff with a simple standing lug rig, she is a delight to row and sail.

Comes complete with rig, oars, new all over cover and a combination road trailer/launching trolley.

A beautiful Whitehall skiff built by Shew and Burnam of South Bristol, Maine. Believed to have been built around 1981.

Comes complete with rig, oars, new all over cover and a combination road trailer/launching trolley.

Bought by the current owners from the dissolved collection of the maritime museum at Eyemouth she has been used for sunny days on the Scottish coast and is a very special little boat indeed.

Construction

Clinker planked, probably using cedar, on steamed oak timbers, all copper rivet fastened.

Oak stem and stern post with varnished mahogany transom.

Laminated oak quarter knees and breasthook.

Varnished oak gunwhales and varnished mahogany sheer strake.

Solid timber thwarts with laminated oak supporting knees.

Varnished hardwood slatted sole boards.

Wooden dagger board in a wooden casing offset to starboard.

Transom hung mahogany rudder with bronze hangings.

Rig

Loose footed standing lug rig on an unstayed varnished wooden mast.

White terylene sail by Nathaniel S. Wilson with a single reefing point.

Mainsheet on a 2:1 tackle.
