The Walhalla is a Dick Hall design built for the famous sailor Wietze van der Zee. The design was made to sail around the world and to be able to fall dry. The hydraulically retractable centreboard can be sailed from 1.10 meters to 2.40 meters. The design number of Dick Zaal is number 26 and is called Black Pearl. This steel ship is unique with a hydraulically retractable centreboard and 2 fixed swivel outriggers to dry fall. These struts are recessed in the hull and can be unscrewed from the cockpit with spindles. The ship is insulated with foam from the waterline up. The ceiling is also insulated. The ship is built in 4 mm steel and is ultrasonic measured by an expert at the end of 2019. All standpipes have been replaced. The hull is fully varnished at the end of 2019 with 2 components De IJssel DD lacquer. The cockpit is nicely sheltered and under the fixed doghouse you can sit dry. The doghouse is lockable with an insert zipper. The interior is practical. The spacious salon has a nice round seat. The round seat is not yet finished and there is room for a double bed. The aft cabin has a double bed and a single bed. From the aft cabin there is a second exit to the outside. Are you looking for a sailor for a larger voyage with a small draught?
