ALL TRADES CONSIDERED - Over the past 40 years, Naval Architect -Tom Fexas- designs have become some of the most recognizable production and custom yachts in the world. A few of which were built to High Tech standards using High Tech materials. Reliant is one of those Motor Yachts! Many of the features and materials which Mr. Fexas used in Reliant are still considered High Tech today. Making Reliant as relevant a vessel today as it was the day she was designed. If you are a discriminating yacht buyer, you need not look any further than Reliant. Designer - Tom Fexas - built boats to achieve seaworthy ability, while capturing efficiency for fuel consumption. His philosophy was as simplistic, as his yachts where radical in design! He was Iconic. When one stand back, and visually comprehends the cutting edge nature of his drafting, we realize how far in advance His designs were. The veteran and the laymen accept the fact that this was a man who was "way beyond", the average and "Run of the mill" marine designer. In 1983, in the Durbeck Yard, in Bradenton, FL, "Reliant" was born. Her construction was beyond anything built at that time, and was considered, "State Of The Art". Airex Core etched to receive industrial grade woven roven, and mat, in thickness schedules that where "OVER BUILT", by any standards, then or since! Outside layers were 1/2", and inside lay up was 1/4" in thickness! By today's standards of 1/8 and 1/8, one can understand the extreme strength offered in "RELIANT'S" build! These exterior and interior shell thickness dimensions, coated double layers of Airex core, providing rigidity and enduring strength. Nordhaven, has now, for the first time in their history decided to build to these standards, as they recognize the "Strength to Weight Ratio", and are including this core build in there boats over 100 ft! Durbeck built to these standards in 1983, and hired experts in this field for the construction of "Reliant", to assure highest quality in assembly, and when coupled with two industrial and continuous duty Caterpillar 3408 Diesels, the results are superb! See "RELIANT", and make the comparison with boats in the 2 to 4 Million dollar range. Owner will consider trades of smaller boat, cars, aircraft, jewelry, coins, real estate, anything of value Read More
