For Sale Dutch built barge "Klumpė“, widebeam, liveaboard, houseboat in Chiswick, W4 3UP, London
Constructed in 1902, it is a strong flat bottom steel structure. Original rivets. Originally was used to transport light perishable goods like cheese, dairy, crops. In 1970s superstructure was added for pleasure trips in Dutch inner seas, canals and rivers.
She is 14 metres, 46 feet in length and 3.35 metres, 11 feet in width, the waterline to wheelhouse top is 2.4 m, 8 ft air draft, water draft because of flat hull is only 0.6m, less than 2 feet. Excellent for small inlets, beaches or shallow moorings.
The barge is navigable from two posts, inside the wheelhouse and outside on top deck. There are joysticks as controllers for ultimate fun. The motor is 80 horsepower, 4 cylinder, Standard Motor Company Leyland 3.8 diesel. There is a disconnected heat exchanger for hot water on the move. Yuasa 4 leisure 90AH and 1 starter batteries. The generator is a good Bosch putting out loads of electricity 90A. Also there are 3 solar panels, Sterling mains to battery charger 12v 50A. Inverter from 12v to 240v mains is stunning 2kilowatts, enough for electric kettle, laptop and more... There are two Danfoss anchors, all rigging, lots of deck space, wooden decking, a barbeque and park bench. Enjoy those sunset evenings with a grill and wine! “Klumpė“ is painted in two part epoxy International marine paint, classic marine black and white; red railings, sliding doors; goosewing grey deck anti-slip paint. There is a hull survey.
The barge layout is three spaces. Wheelhouse, bedroom in the stern/back, main galley with wc, shower, kitchen. There are two places to sleep, double bed in the back, and foldout sofa-bed. Sink, dinning table, Washing machine, 4 hob gas cooker, oven, instant water heater, two Lpg gas bottles. Drip diesel Reflex stove (off Danish fishing boats) has copper coil and an underfloor pipe heat system, radiator in the back. At least 300 litre water tank, two diesel tanks. Lots of storage, compartments. It is very comfortable to live as a single or a couple. Dry and ventilated, because it was lived on all the time.
The barge is on residential mooring in Chiswick Quay Marina, West London. Registered in the UK, insured, and belongs to the local boating club. May apply for an interview to get a residential mooring here. One car parking, A4, M4, A3, A40, A406. Only 35min to Waterloo from Chiswick mainline station, 10 min walk. Shower and wc room block, pretty surroundings and friendly local community on the river Thames.
