DESCRIPTION

This Fairey Sword ex Police Launch has seen service since 1980 on the river Tyne. She has been well maintained during her long service as a Police launch and is now looking for a new owner. Built in Southampton by Fairey Marine, she is of solid construction and a capable sea boat with a large wheelhouse and spacious but simple accommodation.

Powered by twin Detroit V71 425hp diesel engines with 2652/2614 hours of use at time of listing.

Mechanical:

Powered by twin Detroit V71 425hp diesel engines with 2652/2614 hours of use at time of listing.
Shaft drives to 3 bladed bronze propellors with rope cutters.
Twin rudders.
Serviced regularly when in commission up to October 2012.
Both engines removed in 2012 with new piston rings fitted to Starboard engine with both receiving general tidy up and painted.
All water hoses replaced 2012.

Construction:

This Fairey Sword was built in 1980 by Fairey Marine in Southampton.
Hull, deck and coach roof are constructed in GRP.
The interior is simply fitted out with comfortable black vinyl covered pilot seats in wheelhouse and blue vinyl covered bunks in two cabins.

24V system fed from 2 banks of 4 x 6 volt batteries
Panda 3.8Kw generator
110V shore power and cable.
Sterling Power battery charger.
Tankage:
Fuel 3192 litre capacity in three steel tanks.
Water 228 litre capacity in a steel tank.
Calorifier tank
Water System:
Pressurised hot and cold water system.
Calorifier supplying hot water either from engine or immerser.

Accommodation:

This Fairey Sword sleeps eight in single bunks split between to forward cabins.
Toilet and wash hand basin is adjacent to the galley on the starboard side.
Galley:
The galley located forward of the wheel house on the port side, is equipped with a Nelson 2 burner gas cooker with grill and oven.
Stainless steel sink unit with hot and cold water and sea water tap.
