A rare opportunity to own a high quality, professionally maintained Farr 36 One Design carbon fiber race boat along with all components to run a successful race program!
ANNAPURNA was completely rebuilt and updated in 2017. She raced that summer and won Boat of the Year. From there, she went on to compete on the West Coast where she was successfully dry sailed. Surveyed in 2017, prior to many upgrades, she was valued at $327,500 with a robust sail inventory, all equipment in excellent working condition. The composite hull is one of six built between 2002 and 2006 and has been meticulously maintained. You will have a hard time finding another carbon fiber 36' -37' race boat with this equipment, sail inventory and race-ready!
The mission statement was for a strict one-design that combines high quality design and construction, superb performance, offshore capability, excellent transportability, with reasonable cost and without the influence of any handicap rule constraints.
What the innovators at Farr Yacht Design, Ltd. came up with is quite possibly the fastest fixed keel (while sailing) sport boat designed to date less than 40 feet! Farr Yacht Design spent over a year on this project with over 2000 hours of research and design work to make sure the design promised nothing less than pure adrenalin pumping fun.
Built in Carbon and San foam it displaces just 6,743.94 pounds, flies 958 square feet of sail upwind, and 2368 square feet downwind with retractable carbon bowsprit and a 7/8 fractional carbon rig, swept back spreaders and no runners. Drawing 8.5', with 32.81' on the waterline this boat is fast and stable upwind and a pure rocket downwind. It is also the first boat in its class to meet the ORC/EEC mandatory liferaft storage rules for offshore racing.
One of the most interesting options on the boat has nothing to do with racing at all but everything to do with getting to them. The keel retracts to meet a generally accepted 13.5' trailer height in most areas. Take off the rudder and it will even go lower.
Loaded with good sails and equipment with no expense spared by the current owner, this yacht is ready to put some serious silver on your mantle.
