DESCRIPTION

'Jasper' is a purpose built, bespoke Dutch style barge.

Description

Jasper is a well maintained and beautifully presented unique Dutch style barge. Built in 2007 by reputable fabricator Reeves and fitted out to a high standard by award winning Sabre.
Jasper has been designed as both a comfortable home as well as a practical, stylish cruising vessel.
Interior space has been used to provide optimum storage, an important consideration when living on board. On the exterior, whilst boasting exquisite lines, safety has also been at the forefront with wide gunwales and integral safety ladders in the hull.
Whilst primarily used on the Cambridgeshire waterways, Jasper with her vee chines has been cruised across The Wash, showing her usability subject to conditions and skipper experience.
If the current location of Jasper is not suitable for you, she could be re-located by road via specialist boat hauliers, and being 3.48m wide she will not require an escort vehicle, keeping costs to a minimum.
All viewings are by prior appointment, so please contact us to make arrangements. ASKING PRICE REDUCED TO OFFERS OVER £125,000

Construction
Welded mild steel-:
10mm base plate
6mm side plate
4mm cabin side plate
4mm cabin roof plate
The hull is flat bottomed with vee chines. It was originally treated with an epoxy coating having a 7 - 10 year life, and has had subsequent treatments with Intertuf in 2011 and 2015. New anodes have been fitted as and when required, whilst leaving original anodes in place.
The hull above the top rubbing band is midnight blue, black non-slip decks and cream topsides. The external paintwork was redone in 2015.
The wheelhouse is double glazed with blinds and constructed of timber with the roof in three removable sections and the side, back and front panels hinged to enable it to be lowered comfortably by two people. A blue fabric canopy encloses the stern deck area, which has space for al fresco eating and drinking.
The interior has been professionally fitted using maple joinery throughout with inlaid detailing, mahogany, granite worktops, and white painted tongue and groove headlining. Windows are port hole and arched rectangular anodised frames with toughened glass and there is a hardwood framed, double glazed skylight hatch mounted in the cabin roof above the saloon.
In May 2021, the hull was re-blacked out of the water, topsides, decks and gunwales re-painted and the timber work re-varnished.

Accommodation
Access on board is via either side of the wheelhouse where steps lead down to a solid mahogany cabin door on the starboard side, which opens into the open plan saloon and galley. The saloon comprises a range of low level and full height fitted lockers for storage and for accommodating electrical equipment, fitted shelving and display shelves, a solid fuel stove mounted on a plinth with a tiled surround to port, built in L shaped seating with dining table to starboard that converts to a guest's double berth, wall mounted lighting, blue under gunwale mood lighting and engineered timber flooring.
The galley comprises fitted base and wall units, concealed appliances, a granite work top and breakfast bar with access between, stainless steel sink with a swan neck mixer tap, free standing cooker and hob with a tiled splash back, ceiling mounted LED lighting and vinyl tile effect flooring.
A port side passageway with door leads to a very spacious walk-through bathroom comprising a full size bath with a shower over and shower screen, built in vanity unit with granite work top and inset wash basin, large mirror, electric flush macerator toilet connected to a stainless steel waste tank located in the engine bay, ceiling mounted lighting and fan, vinyl flooring.
