In the world of production boats, it is rare to find a truly custom design. This Grand Banks Eastbay 43 Sedan (SD) model is a combination of the SX 43 Hull and the Grand Banks Eastbay 43 Flybridge deck and house combined without the flybridge. This creates a longer house and adds starboard side access to the helm through the side deck door allowing for 3 large windows along each side of the salon, whereas the SX model has 2 windows. This allows more light into the Salon, and especially the U-shaped galley below deck. All of these are options you will not find on the 43 SX model.
As you step aboard the swim platform, you find an access door to the teak sole cockpit on the starboard side. This area is decorated with aft-facing seats with storage underneath, a handheld shower, and stainless steel brackets for her St.Croix davits.
On each side and two steps up walking forward, gives you access to her side decks aligned with a stainless steel handrail above her beautiful and freshly varnished toe rail. Around the foredeck, you will find a well-spaced area accommodating an electric windlass with foot controls and a polished stainless steel fairlead for her plow-style anchor.
Back aft stepping up into the Salon you find two facing lounges with an expandable Hi-low teak table. ahead up to port is a perfectly positioned seating area with a chart table for easy navigation and a great line of sight. From here over the starboard is the well-equipped helm with 2 Garmin multi-function displays (new in 2020) and all the controls needed for the safe operation of the vessel. The teak soles have access to the engine room as well.
Stepping down a few stairs you find a well-lit U-shaped galley with a Princess 3-burner propane cooktop, Sharp convection/microwave oven, and double stainless steel sink. Over to Starboard is a double bunk guest cabin with a hanging closet and sliding privacy door. This cabin converts into a lounge area as the top bunk folds up out of the way.
Moving ahead to port is the private head with sink, port lite, and storage above and below the countertop. Directly to the starboard is the walk-in stand-up shower with seating and conveniently placed shelving, as well as a perfectly placed window to allow lots of natural light in. The master cabin is found all the way forward in the corridor with a full-sized double bed and beautiful teak cabinetry surrounding the berth with hanging closets and plenty of teak storage lockers, seemingly everywhere you look.
Only Fools Rush In, with her navy hull and classic design, is a unique Downeast beauty fully equipped and ready to take her next owner on wonderful new adventures.
