Broker Summary
We are now listing one of the much favoured small yachts of the 70s, being a Halcyon 27, which during the past decade has been fitted with a whole range of new extras and interesting equipment.
Her sea-going capability is as good as you will get and several Halcyon 27s have done extended voyaging; in fact, Emelee has sailed round the world, via PanamaCanal, during a four-year period. Most of this voyage was single-handed and almost all of the voyage without an engine!
Now fitted with a recent Beta Marine 16hp, with efficient Featherstream folding three blade-prop, also fitted with a Lofrans power windlass.
Adequate electronics by Raymarine, being ST 40 and 60, with a Garmin EchoMac, all NMEA linked, also to the ST1000 autopilot. Recent batteries, with effective power generation assisted by a Rutland 504 Wind Charger and a Rutland HDRi Wind and Solar Charge controller.
A recent rig and good sails, with efficient reefing and furling, all contribute to a superbly equipped small yacht with a comprehensive maintenance program, including a complete rudder rebuild. The Halcyon 27s were built to stringent Loyds requirement with heavy lay-up and encapsulated full-length keel; hull recently stripped and now antifouled for this new season.
Comfort down below is enhanced by splendid varnish work, recent comfortable upholstery, efficient small galley and a decent chart table, with clustered instruments
For reasons of retirement from sailing, this attractive Halcyon27 is ashore near Poole and now available at a keen price, being £6,500
