HR 42 - a contemporary cruising yacht from Hallberg-Rassy which embodies the builder’s expertise with the design skills of Germán Frers. The end result being a superb cruising yacht with sparkling performance which is a pleasure to sail and will give pride of ownership indefinitely.
BEOWULF is a very good example of the Hallberg-Rassy 42, and is based on the East Coast of Spain in the beautiful Port of Calpe, where she has a transferrable berth until April 2025. She is an ideal yacht for exploring the Baleric Islands from this base and has plenty left in the locker for cruising further afield.
BEOWULF has been systematically upgraded to provide a comfortable and capable cruising platform with practical and thoughtful additions through out the deck layout and the interior accommodation.
The centre-cockpit layout protected by the windscreen and sprayhood gives excellent visibility and feels very safe in any seaway. Moving forward from the cockpit there are grab handles and 'granny bars' for security and her higher bow keeps the decks dry. Deep 'v' sections forward of the keel help her to cut through bigger waves and she is particularly noted for her heavy weather sailing characteristics.
Two comfortable cabins are complemented by two heads compartments, each with a separate shower stall. Standing room is at least 6' through out with the exception of the walk-through to the aft cabin and the cabin sole is a uniform level throughout. All the important and essential areas can be utilised by crew without obstructing other crew members and there is always a sturdy grab handle or fiddle for support.
Whether at sea, anchored or in a marina BEOWULF is a comfortable long-distance cruising yacht with a comprehensive inventory.
She is an EU tax paid yacht.

The hull was designed for its seaworthiness and to give good sailing, it was not built to a formula or to maximise racing rules. The deck is laid for correct functioning rather than appearance, the fact that it looks so good is a bonus. With regard to equipment you will see typical Hallberg-Rassy solutions plus some innovations which represent real improvements.
