Mechanical & Electrical Systems

Located in a sound proofed engine box is the marinised International Brit BD154 tractor engine, fitted with the boat in 1972. 4 cylinders. 40hp. Shaft driven to a fixed 3 bladed propeller. Single lever controls. 90 litre plastic fuel tank. Engine was rebuilt in 1994 and has run approximately 522 hour since. Spares for the engine are still available. Annually serviced.12 volt domestic battery. 12 volt engine start battery. Alternator charging.

Construction

Built by Harry Feltham in 1972 to his own design. Varnished Iroko clinker hull. Rock elm frames. Sheaved plywood decks with a painted non-slip finish. Varnished Iroko wheelhouse and cockpit. Long skeg with bilge keels. Lead ballast. Transom hung rudder. Wheel steering.

Accommodation

Traditional layout with two comfortable berths up forward to port and starboard. Helm seat to port in the wheel house with engine controls and instrumentation. Open plan cockpit to the rear. 2 burner alcohol stove. Chemical toilet. Basin with pressurised cold water supply.
