DESCRIPTION

1977 Hatteras 48 Long Range Cruiser

With her raised pilothouse and sturdy profile, the Hatteras 48 LRC has a no-nonsense appearance of a true blue water cruiser. It’s the raised pilothouse that sets her apart from most of the competition; from here, she can be operated in complete privacy from the rest of the boat. Deck doors provide quick access onto the side decks and a settee/watch berth is fitted right behind the helm.

With her raised pilothouse and sturdy profile, the Hatteras 48 LRC has a no-nonsense appearance of a true blue water cruiser. It’s the raised pilothouse that sets her apart from most of the competition; from here, she can be operated in complete privacy from the rest of the boat. Deck doors provide quick access onto the side decks and a settee/watch berth is fitted right behind the helm. The 48 LRC is a heavily built on a solid fiberglass, full displacement hull with rounded bilges and a long, deep keel. This 48 LRC is a wonderful live aboard and fully capable cruising vessel. She has lived in fresh water when not cruising since 2010. And well cared for and has had many upgrades over the years including: stabilizers, water maker, tracvision, satellite dome TV system, fuel polishing system for her 1,380 gallons of fuel, 2500 watt elaborate inverter system that’s capable to keep you on the hook for extended length’s if desired. She has a hindged mast to obtain 16’ height to name a few. Great Loop capable or ready for bluewater passages.


Vessel Walkthrough

From the bridge deck to the engine room, she has every space that is important for cruising and living aboard. Her flybridge is shaded and has all the electronics necessary to pilot the boat all day from up top. The dinghy is easily accessed and deployed from the bridge deck. The raised bow gives the 48 LRC its distinctive shippy appearance and tames head seas. The side decks are generous in proportion, the foredeck has molded seating and two storage lockers, the shaded cockpit is large enough for chairs and a table plus storage and engine room access.

The pilothouse is the heart of the boat where much time is spent by captain and crew. Visibility is A+, ventilation cannot be improved upon, the port and starboard doors provide immediate accessibility to the exterior of the boat. The settee is generous, and the pilot berth is a huge plus not normally found on vessels of this size. There are four A/C’s with reverse cycle heating/cooling units that keep her plenty cool in summer and toasty warm in winter. The salon, master staterooms, V-Berth and pilothouse all have dedicated units. Newer styled digital smx thermostats throughout.

She boast’s two spacious staterooms, the full beam master is athwartship and has two berths. Both boast en-suite bathrooms have separate showers and newer model freshwater heads. Tremendous storage under berths in both staterooms.

Galley:

The U-Shaped galley up offers excellent cooking and storage amenities and allows the onboard chef complete communication with the guests.

Master Stateroom:

The spacious, full width Master Stateroom is located aft of the guest stateroom below the pilothouse. There is one double berth and one single berth, each with drawers below, two individual, lighted hanging lockers and a large built-in dresser. Two large opening portlights are fitted port and starboard and also serve as escape hatches. It has attractive AC and DC lighting, reverse cycle heat and A/C system with SMX controls. The en-suite Master head contains freshwater head, sink with vanity, storage cabinet, mirror and medicine cabinet, opening port light, full-size bathtub with shower, AC and DC lighting and exhaust fan.

Guest Stateroom:

The forward guest stateroom has a large V-Berth with new custom mattresses, drawers below, linens bedspreads and hanging locker with light. Two opening ports and a overhead hatch with lots of headroom give this stateroom a spacious, airy feeling. Reverse cycle heat and A/C have SMX controls. The en-suite head has a fresh water flush toilet, sink with vanity, medicine cabinet, mirror, separate shower stall with exhaust fan, AC/DC lighting and one opening porthole.
