She had a big refurb in 2004/05 which included a new 50hp Beta engine, gearbox and instruments. New keel bolts, replacement of the main deck throughout, new stainless steel chainplates, re-galvanised the deck fittings, new stainless steel 60 gallon fuel & water tanks. New bilge plates, upgraded gas system stripping of all spars & repainting the engine room and bilges. In 2011 the coachroof was removed and rebuilt using marina grade plywood & fibreglass sheathing it, this was also replicated on the aft cabin coachroof. In 2014 the bowsprit, main boom & mizzen boom were stripped & re coated. Finally in 2016 the masts were removed stripped & re-varnished, along with a professional rig check before re-stepping the masts, the rubbing strake and toe rails were also stripped and re-varnished during this year.  Owners Remarks: Pangchi is a spacious, comfortable classic motor sailor made by the famous Hillyard Boatyard in Littlehampton. Her cabins are fitted out in traditional mahogany & she has extremely generous storage throughout. She is a limited edition design with a square transom (unusual for a Hillyard) which creates room for a generous aft cabin.  Used for cruising along the South Coast of the Uk for the past 10 years. Previous to that she was cruised in the Mediterranean & the Black Sea. She has had 4 owners from new, the second owner was a Col. Bardell, of the Ghurkha's, a famous mountaineer. He renamed her Pangchi after a favorite valley in the Himalayas (Pangchi Walloo - we believe). This is why the cruising chute is in the colour of the Tibetan flag (orange, green & white). He sailed her to the Black Sea & back. Our use of Pangchi has been for local days out & short voyages between the Solent & Lizard. We have also used her as a comfortable second home at weekends & holidays with family, friends & on our own.
