"Orca" is in a word....Special. While quality care is expected with a Custom Builder, "Orca" is all of that and more...The vessel has taken its owners’ family for a host prolonged Cruises (including the Bahamas) and has safely provided them with Adventures of a Lifetime.
With two (2) full staterooms, separate head and shower, complete galley, spacious aft deck and a second Flybridge Control station in addition to the lower helm well...if there is a 44' vessel that offers anything close, I am sure I would not know who builds it.
FlybridgeHelm Station is to Starboard with twin settees facing each other from each side. Full Instrumentation as well as Windscreen at the helm and a Bimini Top. Stidd hem chair with electric adjusters.
Lower Helm Station starboard side with full electronics (Garmin), Joy stick controls and electrical breakers (See List of Electronics). The Cabin sole is teak and interior woodwork is finished in satin-varnished cherry. To port is a raised curved settee with a High Low table. It faces another raised curved settee to starboard. The visibility is amazing owing to the Higher elevation of the built-in furniture. Twin Port and Starboard Stidd Helm Chairs are at the forward part of the salon. The galley is down to port and completely open to the adjoining salon. Twin Over Sized Curved windows at the aft corners of the salon allows for natural light and unusual High Visibility onto the aft deck.
A centerline transom door leads onto the Swim platform, The aft deck has natural teak Decking and built in benches with upholstered cushions, ladder to the flybridge, and the doorway into the salon. Seating provided by engine boxes at the forward end of the Aft Deck.
Access provided by either hatches in the salon or Hydraulically activated engine boxes on the aft deck. Well laid out and lite, all machinery (including the generator) is easily reached.
There is a full Sink with hot and cold pressure water and hand sprayer. The countertop (Navy Blue) has a lip on the edge to keep utensils from sliding off. Over the sink are two louvered doors to storage space that hinge up. A dome light is under the locker and provides extra light to the sink work area. Outboard of the sink is a countertop top-opening storage bin. There is also a 2-burner electric cooktop and a microwave/convection oven mounted under the countertop. No shortage of cupboards and drawer storage. There is also an under-counter refrigerator and freezer with a front-opening refrigerator door and countertop top opening lid access to the refrigerator and freezer.
The pilothouse is fully enclosed with hard sides and aft windows in the forward starboard corner Full instrumentation including Anchor Windlass control, Bow Thruster, joy stick controls (see List of electronics).
This stateroom includes a Full Tapered Queen bed centerline of the cabin. Twin Hanging Lockers on each side of the stateroom as well as drawer storage. The Ensuite head is on the Port side with a second door that leads into the passageway (as a Day Head Access). The shower is in a separate compartment on the Starboard side. All doors are rounded at the top and all hanging lockers are louvered.
Down and to Starboard, this affords owners to bring another couple onboard with complete privacy. The comfortable double sized bed runs fore and aft along the hull side. There is a Full hanging closet, drawer storage, and port lights.
The main selector panels, accessory controls and switch panels are located at the port side in the forward of the pilothouse. DC: Battery banks (2x31 and 2x8D series) are located in the lazarette and under the forward bunk. Power is supplied from a 50-amp dockside cord or from the on-board auxiliary generator feeding a main panel located in the pilothouse. There is a Master Volt 3000 automatic inverter/ charger on board that feeds several outlets and the galley systems. There is a Glendening Cable System on the aft deck for the 50-amp shoreline cord.
The engines (Approx.1400 hours) are Yanmar, 6LY2A-STP series diesels rated at 440 hp. The engines are installed in straight drive configuration with ZF transmissions. The vessel is equipped with twin Hamilton 322 Water Jets.
The Phasor 9.5 kw generator unit is mounted in the engine room forward.
The fuel system holds 500 gallons (as per manufacturer labeling). The three fuel tanks are constructed of welded 5052 aluminum with internal baffles. The side tanks have transfer pumps to the center day tank. The vessel is equipped with 3-Rule 3500 gph de-watering pumps that are properly installed with discharge hoses secured.
Sanitation: The system is set up as a type III system with holding tank with deck pump out. The head is an electrically controlled freshwater marine unit.
FE 241 automatic fire suppression system in engine room. #35 Custom plow anchor with 200’ chain rode with Muir windlass mounted on the bow.
Racor fuel filters, Oil exchanger system, 12-volt outlets, Wash down pump.
40,000 BTU Marine Air reverse-cycle air conditioner for pilothouse, galley, dinettes, head, shower, and forward cabin.
"Orca" is well kept, well equipped and Ready to Run. Her successful history of Family Cruises stems from good Care and Custody. The combinations of custom builder integrity, stylish lines, and High Performance is worthy of the High Praise and reputation.
