Background: Designed by McCurdy and Rhodes, the Intrepid 35 was originally built in Rexdale, Ontario as the Heritage 35. Approximately 20 boats were built before the molds were purchased by Grampian Yachts around 1974. Cape Dory acquired the molds in 1977 and completed their first Intrepid 35 in 1978. Although this model has been referred to as a Cape Dory Intrepid 35, this boat was not built by Cape Dory.
Accommodations
She sleeps 6 comfortably and her teak and holly sole was replaced in 2011.
Starting forward is a large queen sized V berth followed by two hanging lockers to starboard and a spacious head to port. The head area closes off to create a shower. Next aft is the main salon with a fold down table seating 6 and the Dickinson Newport cabin heater keeps everyone cozy. To starboard is a full length settee that converts to a single bunk. To port is a settee which converts to a double berth. The nav station is to port with a quarter berth behind. The L shaped galley is to starboard with engine access below the companionway. The original portlights have been replaced with 8 Bomar elliptical opening ports. Her propane fired cabin heater keeps everyone cozy.

History
Approximately 19 of these outstanding cruising boats were built. The first 14 were built by Heritage Yachts in Canada, the final five were built by Cape Dory. Tarshish was built by Heritage with a custom interior.
James McCurdy (of McCurdy and Rhodes) was the designer and is thought to have owned one of the Intrepid 35’s as his own boat.
Lollygag III is set up for extended cruising and live-aboard capability, although it makes an excellent weekender as well. It has been lovingly maintained and upgraded by its past owners.
