Intrepid Powerboats is today under parent company MarineMax Inc. Its line-up includes impressive luxury sports yachts and center consoles 30 to 51 feet in length, and all its boats are powered by multiple outboard engines. One of the defining features of Intrepid Powerboats is the unique stepped-hull design, which delivers high speeds, fuel efficiency, and high performance at the same time it offers a smooth, dry ride and good stability. It does this by creating a center of gravity that is ideal for planing, and that flattens waves and ensures less jolting. This is achieved with the use of hand-laid fiberglass and Kevlar in the construction, which makes for a strong yet light hull. 

Safety plays a big role in Intrepid’s design, with everything from more secure hatches to carefully placed grab rails, safer seating, and the removal of unnecessary mechanical systems creating all-round safer vessels. 

Model ranges/Models of Intrepid Powerboats

Throughout its long history Intrepid Powerboats has offered a continually evolving range of models, and today these are all semi-customizable. Its base models offer the foundation on which to customize, and while these have developed innovatively over the years, the ethos of building fast, safe, and luxurious center consoles and sports yachts has remained the same.

Throughout the 1990s, the brand’s line-up included 26- to 40-foot center consoles, walkarounds, and cuddy cabin boats, each one semi-customized for a specific new owner. This continued through to the 2000s, although the smaller models under 30 feet were discontinued and we saw the emergence of the signature Sport Yacht Series (39-47 feet). 

Today’s line-up includes 7 models in the center console Nomad Series, 2 in the center console Panacea Cabin Series, 3 in the cabin Evolution Series, and 3 in the cabin Valor Series. A total of 15 models range from the 30-foot 300 Nomad center console to the 51-foot Panacea, a center console with cabin that features an expansive bow sunpad that converts into a dining area, and a helm area with sink and refrigerator. The Panacea’sinterior comprises a luxurious cabin, head and full galley. When it comes to customization, features include the hull color and fishing accessories, the engines, tow package, air conditioning system, upholstery, lighting, and electronics amongst many others. 

The Evolution Series of cabin sports yachts includes the 438, 477, and 50 models, offering the luxury you would expect on a small superyacht, with the sporting prowess of the most capable offshore sportfisher. With quadruple outboards, two double cabins, a spacious galley and lounge/dining saloon, and a shower and head, it’s designed with weekend cruising for the whole family in mind. Again, the wraparound deck space and latest fishing accessories are combined with plush upholstery and comfortable sun pads to make it a truly multi-functional luxury sports yacht.
