Ginger is the last of the highly regarded P40 to be built. Her owner is relocating and is reluctantly putting her up for sale.
The Doug Peterson designed Islander 40 is a performance cruiser designed to handle the rigors of offshore sailing while paying special attention to a comfortable and accommodating interior.
Ginger is one of only a very few Islander P40s with the desired Sheel Keel, which offers excellent performance with only a 5' 2" draft.
Ginger is in excellent condition with low engine hours. She represents an excellent value and is definitely worth a look.

Ginger has five opening hatches and new marine reverse cycle air conditioning and heating (2017).
She has sleeping accommodations for 7 with two private cabins and generously proportioned port and starboard settees. The U-shaped port settee can convert to a double berth and the starboard settee doubles as a large single berth.
The salon is very spacious and inviting with plenty of room for family and guests. A U-shaped settee with table is to port and a strait settee is to starboard. There is a lot of storage in cabinets and shelves above the settees. The shelves have removable slats to keep books secure when under sail. The cabinets feature wicker doors for proper ventilation.
The private forward cabin has a large V-berth, a large overhead hatch, a hanging locker with louvered doors, large drawers under the berth and reading lights. Mahogany battens cover both sides of the hull and nicely designed cabinets run overhead down both sides of the berth. There is a private entrance to the head.
Just aft and to port is the spacious head with separate shower. The head features a new Jabsco manual commode (2016), a large vanity with rounded corners, sink, mirror and cabinets. The roomy separate shower also has a seat and some shelving.
The aft cabin is to starboard of the companionway. The private aft cabin can be “opened up” if so desired or “closed up” for privacy. There are drawers under the berth.
A large opening nav desk is the centerpiece of the nav station, which is located inside the aft cabin. The desk has drawers and a seat that rotates under the desk when not in use. The forward privacy wall and the cabin door can be opened up for a wide-open feeling when wanted.
Head has two entrances--one private entrance from forward cabin and one from hallway to salon.
