You would be forgiven for thinking that you had stepped on a much larger vessel than her 'Leader 8' handle suggests. This vessel is a masterclass in utilising all available space and if you are looking to either upsize or are considering the painful prospect of downsizing then you will be frankly delighted with what the Leader 8 has to offer. With her smart dark blue hull, sporty helm, comfortable cockpit and saloon she is a delight either on the water or in the marina. Her topsides have been polished and decals replaced in 2023.
This is the more desirable inboard diesel version which is well maintained by her engineer owner. She has recently upgraded full canvas options, large bathing platform which makes getting on and off both easy and safe, an additional Garmin chart plotter and bow thruster.

Mechanical

Vessel is powered by the reliable and economical Volvo Penta D4-260 inboard diesel. The engine is situated aft beneath the cockpit sole and is easily accessed for servicing and daily checks. The engine has completed 241 serviced hours with the most recent in June 2024. Sterndrive propulsion with Volvo duo props which increase grip and at lower speed and provide exhilarating acceleration when required. Jeanneau state that at a cruising speed of 24.5 knots she will burn 32 litres per hour. This gives a not too shabby range of 225 miles on a tank. With a clean bottom she will achieve 32 knots. Helm position is to starboard and has fly by wire single engine lever control with full engine instrumentation including rev counter and gauges for oil pressure, temperature and charging.
Sterndrive was fully serviced in 2023 with new anodes and bellows. Props were removed and refurbished. The engine coolant system had an 8hr flush and descale in 2023.

Accommodation

Below decks is accessed via a lockable sliding door from the cockpit. Two steps down and you are in the main saloon with full standing headroom. The interior is light, bright and fully carpeted. The cabinet work is light teak veneer and the saloon upholstery is white leather in excellent condition. To port is the galley with circular stainless steel sink, pressurised hot and cold water, front loading fridge with ice compartment, 2-burner gas hob and microwave oven. There are storage below and above the hard wearing easy clean worktops.
Aft of the galley in the fully enclosed sleeping cabin with double berth running midships, hanging wardrobe and dressing seat. There is an opening port hole and hatch allowing light and ventilation. 12V deck head and reading lights.
returning to the saloon there is a horseshoe seating area in the bow with central table. This area will convert to a very sizable double berth. There is a flatscreen TV mounted on an aft facing cupboard and 12V lighting in the deck heads, Large opening roof hatch for additional ventilation.
Heads compartment with Jabsco marine toilet, sink unit, pull out shower with pump out.

Construction

GRP constructed sports cruiser with planing hull, GRP bathing platform and superstructure,
Opening door at transom leading to self bailing cockpit with horseshoe seating area to starboard with GRP table. Cockpit fabrics and easy clean 'Sunbrella' taupe. Double helm seat with all round visibility. Starboard walkway is slightly wider than the port side making access forward safe and secure. Self bailing anchor locker with electric windlass, stainless steel bow fitting and ground tackle.
Under water areas antifouled in late 2023 using a 2-season coating.
