Based in Torquay, Windhapper is one of the successful Jeanneau Rush designs from Ron Holland, whose Shamrock version became successful as a competitive half-tonner.
A cruising version was introduced by Jeanneau, having a slightly smaller rig with a well-equipped and comfortable interior. Deck layout is efficient, with sail controls led aft to generous size self-tail winches.
This attractive cruising yacht is in operational condition, but does need some work to tidy up interior.
As a result of recent findings, certain minor work is needed, being repairs to where sea-cocks are fitted and rudder also needs attention, all of which can be dealt with by a keen owner capable of doing this work himself.
However there is evidence of considerable water ingress through coach roof
windows both sides, which will require removal and refitting.
Topsides appear sound, with only minor work required; condition of deck and cockpit is excellent with almost no evidence of damage, but deck gear and winches need a good service. Spray hood and cockpit cover have been cleaned and serviced.
Engine is a Yanmar 2GM20, 2 cyl 18hp,1998, Serial no. 27902, shaft-drive; ample power when needed for this easily driven and well-designed underwater shape - new batteries fitted in 2022.
Electronics are adequate and mostly working, with entertainment system fitted in cabin.
The interior is comfortable with plenty of teak trim and varnish work all to a good standard.
We consider that this is an interesting yacht, now requiring some maintenance work by an interested and committed new owner.
