Boat Overview

The Sun Odyssey 380 won Best Monohull Cruising Boat Under 40ft in 2022 by Sail Magazine. We can provide a bespoke 380 to your specifications at the end of 2024 or early 2025. The price shown is for our sailaway package, which includes delivery and commissioning. Part exchange, VAT-free export to qualifying customers, and low-rate marine finance are all available.

Accommodation

Two or three cabin layout with one or two heads are all available.

The fit-out features one floor level with no door sills, leather-wrapped handrails, LED lighting, and both double berths are completely rectangular. The saloon has cream upholstery, upholstered main bulkheads, blinds, and screens for windows and hatches.

A good-sized chart table is located at the navigation station, which includes all electrical panels, a Navicolour supervision system, plus laptop and gear storage.

The L-shaped galley is equipped with double stainless steel sinks, a gas cooker with grill and oven, and a large 160 litre fridge. It features Corian worktops, a waste bin, and a cutlery drawer. There is a very wide additional galley drawer under the port saloon berth end and wine bottle stowage under the saloon sole.

The heads compartment includes a marine toilet with a holding tank, a sink, and ample storage. It has a hot and cold pressurized fresh water system. There is a dedicated shower compartment, entirely separate from the heads compartment, with a locker and removable oilskin hanging bar, plus access door to the huge cockpit locker.

The saloon features a large folding Deluxe table with double berth conversion and a settee berth to starboard with a fixed armrest.

The aft cabin(s) have a large double berth (2.00m x 1.82m) and a fully retractable access door for more space. There is a workshop/cockpit locker on the port side in the single cabin layout.

The forward cabin has an offset rectangular double berth (2.00m x 1.35m). It includes two large hull ports and two excellent hanging lockers with shelving.

Additional features include four large hull ports, many opening ports (including three in the aft cabin), and flush deck hatches. There are 12V USB plugs in cabins, indirect lighting, lamps on bulkheads, a RA70N fusion player (radio/USB/Bluetooth) with saloon and cockpit speakers, upholstered bulkheads, shades and blinds for windows and ports, under-floor wine storage, a clock, and a barometer, plus an extra porthole in the aft cabin.

Spars & Sails

The fractional double spreader rig by Selden is deck stepped. It features a boom with a lowered gooseneck for additional sail area and ease of packing the sail away and putting the halyard on the head. Additional features include a rod kicker, Harken self-tailing primary and secondary winches, and all sheets led aft to the helm positions with a German mainsheet system. Lazyjacks and a Y bridle mainsheet system are included, as well as adjustable sheet friction rings and a Facnor headsail furling system. Single line slab reefing is standard and led aft to the cockpit. The downwind pack includes Code 0 deck fittings, an additional coachroof Harken self-tailing winch, a windex, and an extra winch handle.

Mechanical Systems

Located under the companionway in a vented and soundproofed compartment, this boat has a 40hp Yanmar 3JH40 engine. It features shaft drive to a three-bladed fixed propeller and a single lever engine control. The engine is equipped with a 125 Ah alternator and comes with a pre-handover PDI and full warranty.

Electrical Systems

The boat has three 12V batteries in two banks (totaling 250ah) charging via a 125Ah engine alternator and a 40amp 240V shore power charger. A battery monitoring system is included.

LED navigation and anchor lights are installed. The 240V shore power system includes UK sockets, an immersion heater, and a battery charger.

Construction

The boat features a white GRP hull with style stripes. It has a full-length hull chine with a negative angle and flying bow to extend the waterline and prevent slamming. The large beam at the waterline provides a shallow hull (less wetted surface area), more buoyancy forward, and a more powerful sailing hull shape. The white GRP coachroof has moulded non-skid decks, walk-around side decks (unique to Jeanneau), a self-draining cockpit, and an anchor well. It includes an integrated bowsprit with a central anchor roller, Code 0, and asymmetric tack points. The cockpit seats, fold-down swim platform, and cockpit sole are finished in teak. The boat has twin wheels, twin rudders, self-aligning rudder bearings, cast iron keels, and flush deck hatches.
