Owners Comments

I sailed Blue Fin down from the UK to Tenerife and across the Atlantic in 2011 with five good friends. The experience is a cherished memory for many reasons.

After passing all the essential checks on the boat with flying colours and filling the freezer with 20 home cooked meals, we left the Canary Islands and set sail into the open Blue for the Caribbean. I promised my wife that we would be in Antigua in 17 days.

To undertake a trip like this you need a sturdy, reliable yacht that can handle anything the weather conditions throw at you and Blue Fin did not disappoint us. Some of the crew were less experienced and one member is registered blind, but the boat responded so beautifully that we felt confident enough to put the Auto helm on each evening while we had supper together, followed by our ‘Entertainment Officer’s’ Quiz and Game Night specials.

On arrival in Antigua 17 days later, my wife told me that I was half an hour late.

Since then Blue Fin has gently cruised the Caribbean islands and has not only shown us her reliability, head turning style and comfort, but her speed as well.

With her performance rig and sails I have taken part in Antigua Race Week several times and have even won our class with a novice crew against boats over twice the cost with professional crew.  Blue Fin is a star and we will miss her hugely.  Hopefully a new owner will cherish her like we have.
